Hi all
Im currently using 8ltr pots. I also have a few 16ltr pots that i will be using soon. I'm currently aiming at 9 girls under 1 600 hps lamp....I also have a few 20 and 40 ltr pots....looking at the average expectancy of 1gm per watt..will the pot size make a difference to the yeild....per lamp...

Bigger pots will make bigger plants generally. This is pretty much universally accepted, that being said you can only cram so many plants/pots into a space. Personally I would figure 1 foot of space all around each pot, to encourage airflow and ease of care as they grow. Unless you are planning on a sog grow which seems to be all the rage these days...

pot size is one of several factors that will effect the size of your plant and the yield.type of soil, nutrients and veg time also influence yield as does climate. humidity, altitude.as does type of training.growing several small plants in small pots (sog) will give you the highest yield in the shortest amount of time. scrog with a few plants in large pots will require more veg time but can also give high yield.

i can cram as many as 8 plants in my 30X60 tent, but 5 seems to be optimal. once they branch out and get a little bushy, the canopy of 5 plants pretty much fills the whole tent, and i can still take them out and move them around, let the laggers get a little more light, use some blocks to jack up the shorties

I'd go with the 16 liter pots, 4+ gallons, to finish. The 20 or 40 liter pots will increase your yield but take longer to finish. Especially the largest pots will take forever for the roots to grow out.

Good luck, BigSteve.

is that cm or inches?1 plant per sq ft seems to work well for SOG. I use 5 gallon pots and top once and 4 plant fill a 2ft by 4ft closet but have also done SOG in a 2ft by 2 ft closet with 4 smaller untrained plants.

inches, 2.5x5 feet. run a 400 watt hps on one side and a 195 actual watt led on the other side, and i like to play with things, so i move them around daily, so they all get about even coverage.
