I'm attempting my first grow about 8 weeks in. I have five plants about 10 inches and 1 plants about 13. There are 5 nodes on each. My plants look pretty leggy, with small leaves compared to the other plants i've seen on this site. what could be my problem? Please help?

Possibly lighting...they sound like theyre poss stretched..
what are you using for light?
Fans will help thicken the stems up a lil...

Thanks guys. No i'm not using fans. I just have one 150W grow bulb i picked up from home depot. So do i need more light? Plus how long should i let them go before i try and flower? Will they bud ok if there leggy?
The plants are strong, tall and green but the leaves are small and there are only 3 leaves per branch. There are also no other branches jetting off the main stem.

"150W grow bulb" sounds like a 42 watt CFL. Just a hunch...

If I'm right, you need 3-4 of those per plant. Definitely sounds like you got stretched plants and need more light.

You definately need way more light. I love CFL's but you definately need way more than what you have. Pick up at least two or three more and a Y socket or two.

No its not too late but you might want to top them to make them strong, healthy and more bushy.
They will pick up fine.
I will pick a couple up tomorrow. Will my plants respond quickly and fill out or is it to late?

4 days after i added another light i have a little growth coming from all the nodes on one of my plants. When i choose to flower will my buds be okay if my plants are streached big time?

You'll want to bury the stems up to the first set of leaves if there is more than an inch or two of stretching or else the plant will not be able to support itself during flowering.

this here sucker blows on my ladies 24/7 from a distance of 4 feet. she has from the first day of vegging when they were transplanted into milk jugs. so My thinnest stem on a 14" plant is 3/8" no shit ,this all from a good breeze blowing on the stems, imitating mother nature's winds, toughening the plants. So, yeah a fan helps:mrgreen:
