They are looking really good, hope their all girls for ya. The hps does that to my pics aswell, if I take them quickly when the light first comes on it ok, but you dont get very long before those lines are appearing on the screen. Very annoying.

If you have sun glasses put that in front of your camera when taking pics, thats a trick when taking photos with the hps still on, it eliminates those wavy lines. Grow is looking good brother keep it up!

Hey Bail, nice to have you on board. What are you growing, if anything? You in Perth? I do my shopping at The Growroom in Cannington. They're really nice guys. Prices aren't as good as ebay, obviously, but when you're in the shit and you need something it's good.

I think I'm about a week from flipping. I'm pretty sure the far right one is female, as I'm seeing some fine hairs now, while my suspicions continue to call the front right one male, as the primordia seem somewhat smaller and reminiscent of the "ball on a stick" staminate primordia. Who knows. I could be wrong on both counts. That said, I've put my money where my mouth is and taken clones of the back right plant (skunk #1).

Thus far the two left hand bagseed plants are not showing anything. They have started growing out and up, which is nice. I think they were maybe suffering the cold, as they've increased growth since I've reduced the amount of time and how often the extractor fan comes on (night and day). I think the low winter night time temps were affecting respiration.

I've added some side 24w CFL lighting. I bought one of those 20 globe party light set ups from bunnings and chucked the coloured lights. Works a treat. I just need to bring them up a bit, but I don't think I'll need it till flowering anyway. I'm using the cool white ones. Still needs to be set up right though, and I haven't even loaded all the fittings up.

Got some feminised Jock Horror seeds from a good Samaritan. Anyone know what I should expect?

Ps. I had some aphids in my grow on the front bagseed plant. I hit them with a rose spray from bunnings which is good against aphids, mites and also has a fungicide in it too which rules out downy and powdery mildew.

Ok so, I decided to flip to flower yesterday, as the skunks weren't getting any smaller, and I really need to find out the sex of the remaining 3 that I'm uncertain on. The back right-hand plant is defo a female, and I took clones of that one last week, and they all took! :-) Got 8 back-ups which is tops!

I'm pretty sure the front right (also Skunk) will be a boy, but I'll wait until I'm sure. No idea what the two bag seeds will be. If we get a female out of those two it will be a good result.

I've also taken the milk crates out from underneath the two skunks, as they were pushing the screen up, and are only gonna get bigger during flower. I've got them raised on a couple of bricks each, which means they've been dropped about 20cm. At least now I have all 4 plants on the same plane, which means no plant will be hogging light, or getting too close to the HPS. Next time I'll purchase a more sturdy screen, as the mesh I bought from the hydro store is flimsy as fuck!

I'm going to stay on veg nutes for the first week of flower, and then I'll move to bloom nutes. Probably the all in one Canna Coco bloom mix. Not sure about additives, as I honestly don't believe the hype about most of them. I'll probably just give them a flush every week with de-cholorinated water (rainwater if the Gods smile upon me) to keep salt build-up at a minimum, and I'll probably hit them with some Seasol once a week too as I've seen the results in the past with my own eyes.

If anyone thinks I'm a raving lunatic for not buying Silica/Fulvic adds or other MonsterSuperMegaBud adds or whatever then feel free to convince me of my erroneous ways. I'm happy to be ed-u-macated. :-)

Pics are from yesterday, including close-up on female flower primordia.

Hey mate sweet grow going to try skunk 1 next myself, Just wondering about your watering times Ive used coco for a few of years now and normally only water 1-2mins per cycle with much larger pots. The first time i used coco i had a drainage problem a mate got me on to maidenwell rocks, you get a bag for $30 at the hydro store and I put decent layer (1-2 inch) never had a drainage issue since. Anyway looks like ya know what your doing just hope that helps.

@mr good stuff which seed bank did u get your blueberry gum through? sounds tasty:eyesmoke:

@west aussie looking absolutely fantastic there mate.

nice move on holdin off the bloom nutes for a week after flipping. ive made that error in the past of changing nutes the day i flip. plants get reall short of nitrogen later.

yay for cloning. now u got girls for future playing.

they are gonna be some big ladies once theyve done their bud stretching

Ok so I flipped to flower almost a week ago. So far so good. No further evidence re. the sex of the other 3 plants yet. Still think that front Skunk will be a boy. I don't mind if all the others end up being male too, 'cause that'll free up heaps of space for the one that's remaining. I think I'll be getting quite a bit off it, and no doubt I'd get even more if I can give it room to stretch.

Still on veg nutes for another week, and then I'll move to Canna Coco flower. Will continue with my weekly flushing with dechlorinated water and Seasol.

Drippers are coming on twice a day for 5 minutes at a time, which works out to 2.67L a day per plant. Might have to up that soon, at least for the lights-on watering. They're in 15L buckets, which is a lot of root mass to keep moist. The weekly flushing no doubt is a good thing.

Ok, so I know it's been a long time since my last update, and to be honestit was a deliberate decision, since weekly updates in the first few weeks offlower are pretty silly really. Not much happens and one realises very quicklyhow many weeks there are to go.

I have updated to a limited extent on another forum (R to the 3) only tokeep some of my Aussie compatriots abreast of significant developments.

So, what has happened?

Well, I flipped to flower on the 7th of June, so we've been at it just shyof 5 weeks (4 weeks and 6 days). Still quite a while to go no doubt. I'mthinking the sativa pheno of this Skunk #1 might add a couple of weeks tomaturity as I've always read that sativas tend to take longer than indicas. That said, the very obviously indica bagseed plant is looking slower than theSkunk #1, so who knows!?

In the end I was lucky. I ended up with 2 females, one of each strain. SoI've got a whole bunch of clones of the Skunk cranking, which means I've gotlongevity as far as growing is concerned.

I also have a whole bunch of seeds thanks to the generosity of strangers, sothey will soon be adding some spice to my grows in the not too distant future.

I'm feeling good about where we're at. I'm feeling pretty pumped about thepotential yield from this Skunk plant. I mean, look at how many sites thereare! I dunno, for a first time grower I'm pretty stoked. No doubt someone willpiss on my parade, since I'm being so enthusiastic, but meh, haters be hatingand all that jazz. ;-)

As far as nutes are concerned the plants are only getting Canna Coco nutesfor flower and every week I give them a flush with rainwater spiked with ahealthy dollop of Seasol (a kelp extract sold in Australia). That's it. Noother additives. I guess I haven't seen any compelling evidence for all this"bud-booster" type additives, so I figured I'd opt out of thatparticular band-wagon. Of course, I'm happy to be convinced of their efficacyor otherwise.

I'm not sure how long it'll be to harvest, but I'm thinking at least another3 weeks to go. I'd be happy to for some input on that.

In the meantime, hope everyone's well, and thanks for following myinfrequent posts.

:-)

gday mate just wanted to comment on your nice lookin grow and how nice it is to see some fellow aussies in here. Proud New South Welshman here!! Im currently 2 weeks into flower with some skunk #11, master kush (both dutch passion) and barneys farm blue cheese. As for a good seedbank that delivers to aus give demonseeds a go. They do pick and mix so you can buy single seeds and theres a good variety. Im 2 from 2 with them. And a mate of mine had success with Attitude so you might wanna give them a go aswell. Cheers mate and good luck with your ladies!
