You can place a band of sheet copper around the base of the plant, then physically remove anything currently on there.

Slug bait works great for me . Or you can but a ring of sawdust around your plants it will help some they don't like the stuff it sticks to them .

A form of silica. It basically cuts the little fuckers all to shit. They don't like it. It's a powder, sold as 'Dio'.

Works for most soft-bodied insects (earwigs, aphids, ants, etc.), and is organic. It can be spread around the plant in a circle the same way one might try to ward off evil spirits :). However after it rains you need to reapply, copper is better used this way. I apply it directly to the plant. All that said, I have only used Dio on plants like hostas and daisies, so I'm not sure of how it would affect your smoke if applied directly to the flowers.
Hope this helps.

^^^^^^^^^ Diatomaceous Earth or bands of copper work well. I use copper. You can find two foot lengths of copper tape on Ebay for a few dollars that will give the slugs a mild electrical charge. More than enough to repel them. Check out my grow, you can see how I did it step by step actually.

I have used this for years and have never had problems with slugs. The mesh expands as the plant grows so it does not get choked off.

Copper Blocker

Placed around gardens, this pure copper wire mesh repels snails and slugs, because they don't like touching copper. It can also be cut to length to stuff in cracks, gaps or other small openings in buildings to block birds or rodents or other animals. This wire doubles as a unique accent for gift wrapping, or an eye-catching trimming for seasonal decorations.
Rolls are 5" wide and available in 25' or 100' lengths. Made in Canada.
A great non-toxic, multi-use pest-control product.

So i set up beer traps and put copper down with coffee grounds to..... Seems to be workin no slugs.. but now i got white flie problems. Any way , i never found any slugs in the beer traps But all the beer was gone and there was like a million beer bug looking things in each trap. I litterally mean like millions.. Maybe the yellow and black beer bug looking things were eating the white flies now they all went for the beer and the white flies moved in fro my plants????
