funny you ask this, i was watching manswers on spike and they said theres no possible way of hiding the smell from the dogs u can only attempt to fool them by like throwen some meat sumwhere else and hope they go for that and not the weed. Dont know how reliable manswers is tho lol

yah, i think your best bet is to have a bunch of decoys like everyone said. I think that two rooms of plants would set off the dogs before a burried stash? I might be missing something, but a stash in your growroom is kind of ironic? idk

if you wanna distract them from the real stash spot. the best way to achieve this is to simply have some clothes that is covered with the sent of smoke and put it near by. that way they'll focus on the smell from your clothes and even if cops are there. they will think it's just the smell from the clothes thats triggering the bark =]

You could hide a gram inside of a Super Market and given enough the time the dog will find it. They smell things alot different then humans. I was talking to the K9 officer in my town and he explained to me just how good the dogs sense of smell really is. He said, when we go into a pizza shop, we smell food, maybe we smell onions or another oder. But as time goes by, we get used to the odors and don't smell them as much as we did when we first entered the shop. The dog on the other hand walks in and smells everything. He smells the cheese, the tomato sauce the bread, the deoderant the man behind the counter is wearing (If any) he smells the pepper on the table the mustard the mayonaise and the hot peppers on the counter he even smells the Paint on the walls. But the smell doesn't go away, it continues to smell everything untill there is nothing left to smell. Remember the dog works on rewards. If he finds drugs he gets fed. They don't stop untill they are told to not just because he smelt some fox urine or some seeds on the ground. They can smell the difference from growing plants to dried buds. There are also what they call False alerts (there are other names for this). Its when the officer quietly commands the dog to point to a specific person or room, this gives them probible cause to search you or the area.

To give you a comparison on the size of human's olfactory center in the brain compared to dogs: if our's was the size of a postage stamp, the the olfactory center in a dog would be the size of a hankercheif

You must have watched the "Never Get Busted Again" videos.

You can't hide a smell from a dog. Like IslandGreenGuy said, their sense of smell works differently
and can pick out individual smells. The best way to cover the smell is going to be with carbon filters
and ozone generators, and keeping police dogs out of your grow room.

Wouldn't you be more concerned about the plants growing than your stash...? That being said, if you're going to hide pounds, put it somewhere off-site in a private place. Personally I'd rather stash cash than weed but w/e.

Nicely Put. I could have just said that... That officer also told me about a training class that K9 units all around the country attend 3 or 4 times a year. He said that there is a dog that can actully smell components of modern day firearms. Say a person kills someone and tosses the gun out the window into the woods or something. This dog can actully smell the different odors of the gun (the oils, metals, gun powder, even the bullets). He said they hid a Clip from one of thier Glocks out in the woods and sent the dog after it, in about 25 minutes he found it. A gun clip with no bullets, WTF. So we can forget about hiding our OP from them.

another thing the K9 officer said was that, if you have a bowl of soup, you smell soup. The dog smells Water, salt, oil, pepper, onion, chicken, celery, the spoon, bowl and the person who gave put it front of him and the dish detergent you used to wash the bowl. Also, if you put a dead body in your trunk and drive 40miles away, a good tracking dog can follow the sent right to the body up to a week later. Mostly Bloodhounds for this one though the Shepards and Labs are still amazing trackers and drug sniffers.

Yeah the nevergetbustedagain videos stated that any container you use will eventually give off the smell of the weed. This is due to the fact that after a certain amount of time (don't think anyone has really researched the exact amount of time...some high scientist should hah) the scent will leak out through the microscopic pores of the container that it is in. In order to make sure that a dog can't smell this you have to either put up distratctions (that shirt one was a good idea), or put it in that coffee container right before the dog comes in to sniff, and just hope the dog isn't in your house forever or he will start smelling it...

1. go to your local huntng out fitters store, buy some possum or racoon scent, for trapping, or even doe piss scents. Just ask and act stupid and ask whats best to get a deer to come in close, buy the scent. Now this shit is strong, 1 drop will make your nose shrivel up it smells sooo bad, eather spread some aound the steps, like the bottoms so the dog will alert to it and make the cops go crazy looking for it under the steps. Theoretically a dog will go for prey rather than weed, because of natural instinct. Or if your extremly paranoid, you could always buy glass vials and then if the dea pops up, throw it some where in your house and itll alert to it. And there this spray you put on your furniture so dogs wont jump up on it, try that shit.

2. this is an idea, more of a story really. My buddy knew his crib was gonna get raided, so he took and lit a big fire, burnt all his lamps and shit, in a big big big big fire. It was 1 week from harvest but he had to snip them early or go down, and before the cops arrived, he got seran wrap, cut the crop down wrapped his stash and the buds up all in seran wrap, put it in a blue wooden chest he had, wraped it in a load of seran wrap. He told me he used 19 rolls of seran wrap to make sure it was COMPLETLY SEALED, then tied it to a few bricks and through it into his pond out back his house...piggies never found it, and it was good shit...thts desperate though...

be aware that the lamps, hps, were just the actual bulb and there was no hood over top then...just the buld, cord, fixture , he used aaluminum foil...the MONSTER
