cure longer the smell will come back man

Could be a couple of things killing you here and that can produce bad smells.

The idea is to dry the bud as slowly and evenly as possible. So if you are letting them hang until the stems snap, that's too long. It dried too quickly and you can definitely get the hay smell. When the buds are dry on the outside, put them in jars. Don't just pop the jars once or twice a day as this method will invite mold (we want to put a little bit wetter buds into the jars). Open the jars for say 6 hours every 12. So 12 on, 6 off for a couple of days. This will slow the drying down a bit so it actually ends up taking a week or 2 to finish drying. As they get drier and drier leave the lids on longer and longer to avoid letting them dry out too much too fast.

After about 3 weeks you'll have some good, dank smellin' buds. If you get a nasty moldy kinda smell, you didn't leave the lids off long enough. When they are really wet it's also good to dump them out and rearrange in the jar so that two buds aren't staying touching in the same place for a long period. So the longer it takes to dry (without mold) the better. It's all part of the game my friend.

yeah, i would say something is going wrong in your cure process.. i think it is fdd2black that has a killer turorial on how to cure properly, and i read it and followed it to the t, and my nugs come out stanky and danky.. give it a read and see if you can pick up where you are going wrong in your cure.. it may only be a really small thing like the amount of time you are curing for or something, so just take it step by step and review what you are doing..
i hope that this helps you out some..

My first harvest yielded me about 3.5 ounces. My broke ass started smoking the buds as soon as they dried, shit was harsh. and smelled like grass/broccoli

After about 3 weeks of curing, it looked and smelled fantastic, broke up right, all that good stuff. I don't think you'll ever have it smelling exactly like it did on the plant though, cause to this day I've never smoked nugget that smelled like my Northern Lights do now, 2 days away from chop.
