hi guys im growing some northern lights, i got everything set up and ready but im worrying about the smell. im planning on doing 3 plants and have heard NL is quiet smell less, but how much of a smell can i expect. i smoke weed in my room all the time and the smell dosent seem to get out, or nobodys noticed anyway. im going to grow in a wardrobe. how much does NL smell and at what part of growing will i notice the smell.

you will need to ventilate the wardrobe as plants need fresh air to grow.

all plants begin smelling during veg time and the smell changes around week2 of flowering.

one way to limit the smell is to use a carbon filter and create negative pressure in the wardrobe .

what lights do you plan on using and what dimensions is the wardrobe ?

about 3foot across, 1 and half deep and 5 tall. i got a 250 watt hps. will it be worth getting a carbon filter for this. i was thinking of getting 2 bathroom fans and installing them 1 in each side. 1 in , 1 out. and a desk fan inside for air movement. what do you mean by negative pressure. i was told northern lights is quite odour less, have u ever smelt them growing. i can have a j in my room and its fine, will the smell be more or less than the smell of smoking weed.

MORE ALOT MORE

dude go over to the grow room design and setup forum and have a look around.

the general idea is to exhaust the hot air away from your grow room and bedroom. while bringing in fresh air from an intake.

i grow using hps (600w) in a closet in a spare bedroom and i have an RVK inline fan a cooltube and duct it through the ceiling up into the attic to get the hot air away. i then have some vents on my closet door which allow the RVK fan to draw the air from the bedroom into the closet thus creating negative pressure. by doing this no smell escapes into the bedroom.

ok thanks for this, i cant really vent the air into another room or the attick and i suppose putting the hose out the window will stink the street out. if i had a carbod filter on and put the hose out the window would it just be odour less air being pumped out. +rep for top info

it might be odourless but depends on the quality of the filter.

check out the grow room design and setup forum .
