Smell

So, I have a question about odor. I am going to have about 4 plants in our closet/guest room. My husband insists that the smell of these few are going to be overpowering I haven't had much indoor growth experience, but I'm just wondering, is he right or wrong? Are they going to smell up the entire house?

I think a lot of it depends on the strand, but either way you will probably want some ventilation.

When they are flowering yes, and when you harvest yes...... you need ventilation if you want to grow indoors and you are concerned about smell, there are a bunch of DIY carbon scrubber plans on here that work wonderfully. I'll link em if you cant find them.

During harvest i cook alot of garlic and butter (fresh garlic). In a pot. Let it simmer for hours. Nothing smells stronger than garlic.

i have 4 plants and my apt reeked!!! i just started flowering so i can only imagine that its going to get worse. I cover up with some febreze and i keep the window in that room open. It deffinitly helps but does not eliminate.

Yes they will smell you need to get your self some ventilation and a carbon filter or ozone generator.. If you don't want to make your own Filter here is a link eBay Store - FOOTHILL FILTERS: CARBON SCRUBBER, UNWANTED ODORS, HYDROPONICS.. They are very well priced.. My filter was only like 70 bucks after shipping and they last along time and they seem to work better than the DIY ones..

Thanks for all the replies guys!

My mother-in-law visits quite often, that's why we're concerned. I am definitely looking into a carbon filter.

By the way, I feel pretty good about the ebay seller damion posted. I think we'll be purchasing one of the bigger ones in the next couple of weeks.
