Looking good so far. Since im the first poster got some questions for you.

Whats your organic soil recipe?
Were those photos indoor? I can never get lighting like that when taking pics. Indoor atleast.
Got any full pics of the ChemDawg? Doesnt look like its producing very well, but it could just be your pics. Reason I ask is I just got a Pre98 Bubba, which my dispensary said is the same as ChemDawg. But the guy seemed kinda clueless IMO.

Thanks for stopping in! Questions are always welcomed and I will take my time to thoroughly answer them.

Right now, I use the Fox Farms soil line. Aside from that, the *only* thing I feed with is this-

Smoke's 'home-made' super-tea concentrate for bulking and resin production.

Ingredients:
  • Unsulfured Molasses [5$] - 1 Cup
  • Advance Nutrients Mother Earth Super Tea (Bloom Formula) [25$ for 1 liter] - 2 Cups
  • Humic Acid Derivative (5-7%) [Flavorful or Liquid Karma ~20$] - 1/4 Cup
  • Water - 2 Cups
  • Total cost: 55$ for roughly 5 batches = 11$ per home-made bottle = Cents per feeding = Growing the dankest organic flowers at a sensible cost.

Preparation:
  1. Grab a sturdy jug larger than one liter. The one I use is two liters.
  2. Pour 2 cups Mother Earth Super Tea, and 1/4 cup Humic Acid Derivative (Liquid Karma or Humbdoldt's Flavorful) in to your container.
  3. Bring two cups of water to a boil in a pot over the stove.
  4. Once the water is boiling, move pot off of the hot coils, and stir in 1 cup Unsulfured Molasses.
  5. Stir the thinned molasses until completely mixed and allow a few minutes to cool.
  6. Mix thinned molasses in to container and mix thoroughly.
  7. Store somewhere dark and cool.

Molasses Tea Super-Food Concentrate Application rates:
  • Soil: Mix 1-2 TBS (15-30ml) per gallon and feed alone. Don't PH if using tap water from 7-7.5
  • Hydro: Mix 1 TBS (15ml) per gallon in to nutrient solution and run as needed.
  • Shake well - In soil, alternate with feedings of plain water - Completely organic. Safe for all stages of plant growth

This should make a very very light tea when applied at the directed rates. Will not bubble in hydro. Absorbs well in soil and is taken up by the rootzone easily.

This is a pretty great way to feed your plants a good heap of molasses without gunking up your system. No more slime in hydro, and all the great sugary organic goodness. The MEST is a great food source as well, and works as a great buffer for the molasses. This makes a really good standalone food supplement for flower in soil. I haven't tried running it standalone in hydro but I have no doubt your plants will show no signs of deficiency provided you're running tap water or a cal/mag with RO. The Humic Acid will help stabilize the pH and will send your root-zone in to a feeding frenzy.

Check back here in a week to see the results of this stuff mid flower.

Note- My feeding rates are very light. If your plants are very hungry, and you wish to up the dose, feel free to do so. This stuff is not hot, and there's no reason you will not experience great results.
As far as the photos, I take them outdoors. The plants are grown indoor from smart pots. As far as the Chemdawg goes, this was a clone that I sent immediately in to flower to see if I would like to run again. Here is what she looked like at 10 days flower. 2 Gallon Smart Pot. Maybe 10 inches tall, off to the left.

As far as production goes, she is producing very well in my opinion. If you're look for a large yield, I wouldn't be going with a Kush strain. Here's what she looked like 8 days later

And here she is now

As far as quality goes, Chem Dawg is a grower's dream. Super dense nugs, showing no stop in production thus far. Trichome production is through the roof and the smell is overpowering. Very fruity and fuely, which I can already tell will be very thick in flavor.

I believe, if given adequate veg time, and maybe a topping, you will be very happy with your yield. I am just running this cut per a friend's suggestion to see if it is worth keeping. Things are looking okay thus far, we'll see if the final product is anything worth hanging on to.

Also, I'm never one to advocate large yield for primary genetic selection. That's a good way to grow a ton of mediocre bud. Your 98 Bubba should grow sparse, dense nugs that take 8-9 weeks to finish. The final product however, is what matters. Check out the trichome production. It is phenomenal thus far.

I got some seeds from Oregon, which is back home for me- Examine this breeder's pack carefully. I was a little taken back when I read the inside of the pack

So what do you guys think of this?

http://www.gro4me.com/
http://www.gro4me.com/SG Strain Guide 08.pdf

Stoney Girl is a long time breeder from Oregon, famous for strains like Berkeley Blues, Pitbull and Sugar Plum. She breeds with a strain that is known for it's super fast flowering times, and this supposedly brings the flowering time of all her strains to under six weeks, sometimes four.

These are her claims:

About our Claims

A Study of Bloom Times

When last Ed and I were together (September 2010) he stated that I possibly picked too early and that I should try a case study on longer bloom periods prior to harvest. I promised I would do this and did. It was my intention to make an honest assessment of what we are doing, as is a continual part of improving our program. We ran 2 separate tests; one test for a comparison of ours harvested at normal periods and late periods, one test for a comparison of ours verses others. Here are the results. We also have had time to back this by popular opinion with several of our contract producers, clubs and the patients who ultimately make the difference. We understand your results may vary.

Test of Time and the Patient

I selected a Sugar Plum, Oregon Pinot Noir, and Pit Bull to use for this controlled test. These are strains we and our patients are very familiar with. At week five in the bloom cycle all other plants were harvested except these. The selected plants were bloomed for an additional 3 weeks for a total of 8 weeks. The hairs at this time were totally curled over and the buds had a much thicker and darker texture. The crystals never turned amber, however did turn a bit milky. Additional portions of the plants were let go for another week, for a full 9 weeks. It was evident that the plant had finished any growing and was beginning to go into a decomposition state at this stage.

Results

Production on these plants showed to be up to an additional 1% of product, however in our end results the gain in product was not worth the loss in quality or type of medicine that is usually produced.

We grow medicine for our patients and they are the ones we count on to tell us our results. This is the biggest factor in our testing, assuring we are producing high quality medicine that is extremely effective through organic methods. We selected 12 patients whom were familiar with our medicine including taste, texture and affect. All of these patients were given samples marked with the strain name as we usually do. None were told they had been grown longer. This was a blind test for maturity.

Without exception all our patients immediately complained to us about the test product. Regardless of strain, every patient without exception told us on contact that the product was not the same. The complaints start with a huge change in the effect of the medicine from targeting a particular condition to just being a couch lock. The flavors went from refreshing, fruity and tropical to heavy and earthy, with less than characteristic notes. The once happy, upper, alert, pain relief was now sleepy, couchy and heavy with lagging side effects such as the hangover feeling and scratchy throat.

The results coincide with what we are teaching. The stage at which you harvest dictates the chemistry delivered to your end product. We like to harvest at the peak fruitation point of flowering. See our “When is it time to harvest”. We grow strict organic methods. We have created fast flowering genetics acclimated for North America in which cold does not slow growth. Our strains are unlike any other in the market for taste. They are consistent, bold, aggressive, tasty varieties that stand in a class of their own. We proudly stand behind our work and feel that we are offering new options to the fast evolving mmj industry.

Setting Standards

Our focus from the beginning has always been on our needs. This is a common approach to inventions. In our case we are un-inventing a lot of unnecessary stuff by providing simple solutions that have worked for us. There are many good methods of growing however we show you ours. We prefer the KISS method as patients need an easy way to be a successful farmer. We believe the next revolution of growing will be the simplistic approach.

Quality and setting standards is another goal of Stoney Girl. We have in place a verification system to assure the consumer that they have our genetics. In this day and age we see a lot of dishonest things going on. It is hard for the farmer to know that he has an authentic cutting of anything. We hear of our supposedly genetic cuttings going for over five hundred dollars in some places. These are not our genetics and we would never stand for that kind of business. We provide not only assurance of genetics but also assurance of quality of meds from farmers to consumer. Farmers who join our licensing program supply organic medicine at its finest. There is a huge growing demand for this type of quantified, qualified medicine.

All of our photos that are published are plants that are within the 5 week bloom range, most within 4. As you know they are photogenic at this stage, which is unlike other strains at the same stage. We do grow many strains always checking what is out there and always sorely disappointed. The latest test is the Chem Dog which is currently very popular here in the North West. See our Comparison below for more information.

How do we get the speed?

There are many reasons we can do a 9 week cycle; genetics, methods, environment, dirt and ferts, and practices. The following is an explanation of these elements.

Genetics

We do not use rudaralis or other auto bloom genetics. All our genetics start at a land race or a known base history level. We do not resource seeds from or to the commercial market. Our flagship for speed is the Berkeley, which has an origin in South American high mountains near the South Pole. This amazing plant bloom in as little as 28 days as there is a short season in the land of origin. Although fast this plant is highly medicinal and produces an abundance of crystals.

Our plants are acclimated for the North West, not Afghanistan. This means that our girls grow just fine right here in the US, in cooler temperatures. Our garden runs best at around 58 degrees. This is perfect temps for controlling mites and other environmental issues.

Can we improve genetics? Absolutely! American farmers have been doing this for years. For anyone to think different would be just plain ignorant. American agriculture has been improving crops such as corn, wheat, and every other commodity for centuries as has been shown by George Frisvold in his study “Who Gains from Genetic Improvements in US Crops”[1]. I recommend every developing farmer read this study. You may find a copy of this on our web site.
I guess the only way to see what the fuss is all about, is to grow them. I've got 10 of her seeds, which I doubt are feminized. Maybe there's a keeper in there somewhere. How nice would it be to have a hashplant that finishes in 5 weeks of flower at 20%+ THC? Or it could be a bunch of hermie BS. She was recently the subject of a headline article in a recent times, so there may be some validity in her claims.

Are you seriously only feeding your plants that tea? And they turn out that great?? Just soil and tea, eh?

Damn, that's impressive. Might have to include some soil in my next grow. About those seeds--personally I highly doubt that 24-32% THC range. Subcool got a 26% Jack the Ripper strain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeBxkll0yrs&feature=channel_video_title that was already straight layered with trichs. I don't know what the threshold for trichome production is (obviously depending on genetics) but I'm really curious what a plant with 32% THC would look like lol. Hopefully it's not all hot air and BS!

Yeah, soil and tea. However, if you really get down to it, Fox Farm's Ocean Forest is full of tons of goodies. The Mother Earth Super Tea? Bat Guano, EWC, Seabird Guano, Shrimp Meal, Sea Kelp, Alfalfa Extract. Add a little Humic Acid for the rootzone and Molasses for carbs and the micro-herd. It may seem like I'm *only* doing something, but that's because I've simplified it. I've also just given you all the recipe for simplification :)

As far as Stoney Girl, all of her strains are super leafy and fast finishing. I'm not sure about 30%, but she definitely hits mid twenties. I have smoked some of her Plum, and boy oh god. Dank fluff. Super Leafy. She breeds with an old landrace Indica from an Afghan valley that has a very short summer. This gives her plants insane resin production. Look, here's what I mean: This is her Crippled Rhino , at around day 40, when she harvests. At this point, she is around 20% THC:

And here's an article about the group with pictures of her Pitbull:

As far as TGA goes, I am a die-hard Subcool fan and we enjoy growing a bunch of his gear! Stick around for dank shots of: 3-D, Plush Berry, Chernobyl, Jilly Bean, and Space Madness (Chernobyl X The Flav)

Wow that Pit Bull is beautiful. I want to make love--make hash with her :P I guess we'll just have to wait to see your results. Already looking forward to it! Are your Stoney Girl seeds going in your DWC or organic garden?

They will be potted in soil and sexed. After sexing, cuttings will be taken for flowering to determine if we have a mother worth keeping.

Cloning for Personal Use with Smoke - 100% Effective and Inexpensive

Here is how I take up to 100 possible personal clones per month with 100% success.

Here is what you will need:
  1. Rapid Rooters and tray with a high humidity dome
  2. Seedling mat
  3. Clonex
  4. Distilled water
  5. Party cups, potting soil, and perlite
  6. OPTIONAL: Great White / Liquid Karma

I prepare my rapid rooters by soaking them in tap water with a bit of Great White and Liquid Karma. This isn't necessary, but I have great success in doing so. It is important to soak your plugs prior to taking the cut.

I'm not going to explain how to take the cutting and dip it in to clonex any further than take the cutting and dip it in to clonex.

Initial Note: Take LARGE cuttings for personal use!

Tray set-up:

Keep the humidity at 100% by keeping a small amount of distilled water in the bottom of the tray. Mist once or twice per day, but the seedling mat will take care of most the work. ------ Check the roots in 5 days ------ You will notice a swelling in the main stem near the bottom of the cutting

Roots!

Transplanting

Hope this helps you all!

Thanks! There are ways to simplify the organic growing process, and I will be putting together how-to's in the near future. It's always worth giving it a shot for a side project. You will not be dissatisfied with the results.

Stick around - Criticism is always welcome :)

Right on. Glad to have you here :)

I am definitely a bit skeptical as well. I have the seeds though, so I have no reason to level any judgement until I give them a run. Should be very soon. And the insert seems a bit snobby, but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt by assuming this is what she's required to print in order for her to personally sell seeds in the state of Oregon. See you around!

This is the exact words of advice im taking on this run, i think its going to go better this time, if I can get more than one other seed to germ ill be happy!
I appreciate it again, if i run into any problems i'll be sure to ask your advice.
Stay stoned my friend!

(edit) Hey just curious, can i germinate seeds in one of those rapid rooter setups like you have or is it really only for clones?

Dude, that's the only way I pop seeds. Rapid rooter plugs. If every seed I have is healthy, I can successfully germ 100%.

I will document and photo my next round, which should be soon, but until then, here's a quick rundown:

-pH a gallon or two of tap water in a bucket to 6.5. From this gallon, slightly fill shot glasses for each individual strain and label them.
-Drop seed(s) in the shot glass(es) and place them somewhere dark and cool, like your kitchen cabinets.
-Go back to your bucket and throw a little Great White and Liquid Karma in (half-strength or seedling strength). You probably won't need to do this, but once again, I get peace of mind from doing so.
-Get an air pump and toss an air-stone in the bucket. Toss your rapid rooter plugs in and let it sit overnight.
-Set it for around 12 to 24 hours.
-Check your seeds by tapping them with a toothpick or chopstick or something. If they sink, they are ready. If some are sinking and others aren't, let them sit a bit longer, but never more than 24 hours total is needed for me. Every bean will germ on time regardless of some sinking and others not in my experience. Also, in my experience, 9 out of 10 healthy beans will sink with a tap at around 12 hours. Realllly healthy beans will split.
-Place your plugs in the tray, and leave them sopping wet from the overnight soak. It is important to do this and never drench your plug from here on out. Humidity and wicking will keep your plugs PERFECTLY moist with no help from top watering from this point forward.
-Put a coffee filter over the tray and pour your seeds out strain by strain or one by one. Use your toothpick/chopstick/sterile-poker-apparatus to slide the seed from the coffee filter to the plug you've aligned at the edge of it.
-If the plug has a wide hole, flip it over and make your own. You want a snug fit. Scoot the seed up to the hole and push it down HINGE-UP about 5-10mm deep. You should be able to fit one more seed on top of it but no more without coming above surface.
-Flake a little bit of the rooter from the corner and lightly patch the hole.
-Place in rooter tray over mat/towel with humidity dome exactly like clones.
-Mist a couple times a day and keep a low water level in the tray- NEVER water the plugs. Dampening off is no good.
-I always have every seed above ground in under 48 hours from this point, with most above in under 24.
-If you are having trouble with seed rotation, it may cause one or two to pop out upside down or in an ingrown fashion. Gently split the plug in half by peeling it with your finger and re-position the wayward seedling.
-Once seeds are above soil, give them a day or so to open up and shed their shell. If they don't come off with a light flick, give it time.

From this point, I transplant the plug straight in to soil. Easy as pie.

yeah that sounds tooo easy actually, i think i should purchase me one of those rapid rooter setups, just strapped for cash at the moment, still kinda bummed i basically lost 40 bucks on those 2 60DW beans
