I forgot who it was and I dont want to give the wrong person credit but someone here said they put theres under a HID light as soon as they popped out the soil and there plants "grew leaves like mad"....sooooo I tried it...put it under 1000w MH from day one pretty much and they "grew leaves like mad" WW1 and I1 are so bushy Its hard for me to get a clear look at the stalk even after moving a few branches

My ballast has the "switchable" feature so I'm going to use a 1000w HPS for flower...right now, nute wise, I'm using FF grow big at about half strength and a little of the big bloom...for flower I'm going to use the FF tiger bloom and big bloom...they dont look like they have been growing as much the past two days though...I walk in my grow room after work and it barely looks like theres any diff...IDK if its working on its horizontal growth and I cant tell or if there being stunted by something...Usually they grow a new set of leaves everyday or every other day at least but what you see at day 17 is what they are right now pretty much so I'm going to have to figure this out

P.S. my budding room is the same as the veg room I'm just going to dispose of the males..the room itself is like 5x10x8(closet) its working out alright though as you can see in the pics...temp will be my only problem(hopefully)...I got two fans in the room keeping it about 83..I can get another fan if need be though

Have you been checking and balancing your PH?
WW1 looks a little over fertilized to, you may want to flush them and restart your fertilizer at 1/4 strenght.

Do you have a hood? If yes dose it have a ventilation outlet on it?
Venting just your hood, to outside the grow room, will drop your temps like no tomarro, and let you get it closer to the foliage.

I've been checking the soil pH periodically and when I do its seems to be in the 6.5 range and the water is around neutral most the time with little adjustments needed to it(I use tap, guess i got a good water supply) yeah it does have a hood and there are little panels that you can unscrew to guess put a ventilation hose on..but I dont have the equipment to do so..can I get this stuff from say home depot or lowes??? Thanks for the help 420guy I really appreciate it....trying to get some killer bud here and so far I think I could be on my way just need to get a few things corrected

Hey Smoke, your definatly on your way... try and keep up LOL.

Ventilation - OK Yes there is no dobut with a little luck or injenuity?(make the shit yourself) you can get what you need at the hardware store.
And the good shit Ventilation Fans - Plantlighting Hydroponics & Grow Lights I didnt do any pricing on that but it will give you an idea of what you need, or to duplicate.
So what do you need?

The Fan - Buying a good square style 120mm 120Volt AC fan is the best bet if not check this DIY Light Hood Fan - The Planted Tank

6'-8' lengh of 3"-4"flex-tube - most likley in the ducting or bathroom/kitchen hood section with the rest of this stuff.

Hood to Tube Adapter - Square to tube size of your choice, square would idealyy fit your hoods outlet size. It would also be Ideal if the fan can be mounted in this adapter.

A place to vent to - Out the Door, Through a Wall, Into the Celing where ever is convient. If you go into the celing it will be very easy to patch, I recomend getting a drywall cutter to remove a section without ruining it. Make sure you have a clear passage for air flow; no insulation blocking it. If you dont mind the door being open you can just go out the door with the tube into your house.

Remember some joint compound and a fresh coat of paint will hide ALOT. LOL

Im really :eyesmoke: right now so if you dont understand something let me know.

Awesome thanks for the how-to...I think the place I got the light from had the fans too..this way I can get a good fit and then I'll have to go to home depot or something and get the parts for the hosing....Do you think this would suck out some of the smell when it flowers too?? because if so I can make the tube go across the wall and hang by the vent thing that sucks air in to supply AC/Heat(goes through filter also)...like a vent/deodorizer???that would be awesome

Anywho, I flushed the plants by the way and they perked up alot and are doing well...if you look at the ice pic(17 day) and imagine every leaf almost pointing at attention and a little taller and thats how it is...I dont think I've seen it as wide...C1 is really weird..its like its just growing upwards and not really concentrating on leaf production like the others??..I know theres no way to tell btwn F/M before 12/12 but that plant has all the signs people say you can use...I'll probably start to flower after another week or so and take another round of pics for everyone before hand(I like to do it with a few days btwn so you see a bigger difference) I'll keep y'all posted

P.S. Do you think I should flower now to take out males and then put back into veg for a week?? Out of my 5 pots 2 are 10" 2 are 14" and one is 11"...I want to do some transplanting so that I can get my females in the biggest pots available...no since in settling for a smaller less budded plant if I can give it the room to be bigger

Today has started there first 12/12 cycle....from the responses I got from everyone I've decided to just flower them and let it go instead of revegging...I have a shelf that is blocking me from going any higher than about 3ft of grow space so if the stretch is to far I may have to take out the shelf...my plants heights are 7in, 7.5in, 9in, 10in, and 11in....I'll post some pics when they start showing sex for growers who need help deciphering the two...Cross your fingers I get some fine bitches

Good call on starting to bud. Since you are using that 1000W your plants should stay fairly short, and wont turn into trees.

Fingers crossed.

Hey everybody, sooo..after 5 days two of my plants have shown(drumroll please).........FEMALE(WW2 and C1)...they all developed these little pods but only two have had the hairs pop out....The pods appear to be the same shape and what not on all of them so do you think they're all females??? I'm thinking its either new growth coming off or a preflower...Sounds a little far out but would be awesome to have all ladies...Wouldn't it have a clover shape(balls) coming out if it were male???...I think I see a hair on the Ice but its small as hell and I may just want to see it real bad(ya know??)I'll Keep you updated whenever the others show clearly...Hopefully I'll be able to take pics of it if their descent enough to see

Hi SUP,
When the male flowers begin to form, they first look like little tiny footballs poking their tips out! They are shaped sorta like the end of a little green football!....

Interesting cause they all have this tear drop looking thing thats pointy kind of similar to what you speak of except I looked closer at the "pods" on the plants I can't determine yet and some(not all) of the pods looks like its seperated at the tip...like the four panels of the football separated at the tip to use same analogies

The little pods that don't sprout a fuzzy little white hair, start to look more like little footballs, then they start to sorta bunch-up, when you see a little cluster of these pods without any white hairs.....males...ouch!......but.........it's only been five days....we'll soon know for sure!

okay kewl thanks wavels.....from my understanding on it now I don't think that I'm that far into it yet..If they are clusters they havnt bunched up yet...in fact just one ball for now hopefully none start popping up with them...continue to keep the fingers crossed...the site I got the seeds from said they have high female ratios but geez all 5 would be unreal...I'll be happy if just the ice is female so I'll have one of each type like I originally wanted...I'll post on the others when they show

Alright the results are in, I guess they were in before though because the other three turned out to be dudes...After about 2 more days they finally developed more pods around the single pod I was talking about...but at least I got two different kinds to work with...kind of disappointed though I didnt get the Ice plant to form the three-strain trifecta, but what can you do...I wonder if I took the pollen from the Ice and pollenated a little white widow bud(not all of'um now, gotta get that supreme smoke, ya know??)I wonder how the plant from that seed would be...banging ass hell I would hope...any ideas on how I could just pollenate one bud and not fuck up the whole plant...would the plant the seed produces be worth it??

Oh well, Try not to be discouraged SUP!
You have some girls.....so you're in pretty good shape!...YEA!

You can absolutely produce some viable seed with your males.
You have some time before your boys actually produce pollen.
Those little pods will have to open, until they fully mature...... Keep your eye on 'em. Eventually you should move them away from the girls.
I isolate my males well before they drop pollen.
When I see that they are getting ready to release pollen, I use a small, clean container to collect the dust with. I hold the container under the male flowers and shake the flowers VERY gently....the dust will accumulate in the container. Make sure all fans are off.....treating this pollen as you would nitroglycerine! Seal the container.
Get a clean small paint brush, (like that used for models.)
Pick out some lower branches on your girls. Look for decent pistil formation with lots of fresh, juicy hairs. I use different colored twist-ties for different types of pollen. TURN OF ALL FANS……….. make sure air is still, or move the girl you want to pollinate to a” safer" location.
Open the pollen container, using the paintbrush, pick up a little bit of the pollen with the tip of brush......simply apply the tip of brush to the white hairs.....each hair that receives pollen develops into a seed....put a twist tie on each branch you pollinate. You can use different pollen on the same girls by simply marking each branch accordingly.

There are many different techniques or methods that can be used to do this! This is the way I do it…..I have made many different crosses over the years….it is loads of fun……what a great hobby…*lol*

haha...that sounds awesome thanks for the advice Wavels...I only have one question though...how long should I wait to turn the fan back on??I dont want to brush the pollen on then turn the fan on and have it blown off or something?? Should I wait 24hrs or is not even a problem??

If you use a small enough paintbrush, you should be able to put the pollen only where it needs to be....it sticks to the pistils. (Unless you sneeze)....or smear a lot of pollen around.....turn your fans back on when you're finished.
Try to "paint" the white hairs only. You will notice a few days after pollination, the white hairs will dry up, and the calyxes start to swell a little...success!
Good luck!

Be EXTREMELY CAREFULL!!!

Cant say that enough. The pollen can get EVERYWHERE and fast. I have done this before as well and ended up with seeds EVERYWHERE! =(

I recomend getting rid of all but 1 or 2 seed pods as they form. This will minimize the risk of a hidden pod busting and flooding your house with pollen, it spreads rapidly and dosnt take much for LOTS of seeds.
Also covering the rest of the female plant, when pollinating, with a bag is helpfull. If you move the Male you should bag the sacks too. LOL

I personaly put a ziplock over the pods when they look about ready to pop so there is less chance of contamination. When the first 1 pops I cut the branch off seal the bag and comince the proccess. I also dont recomend tapping the pollen off indoors at all. In fact I just dip the brush into the baggie and retrive the pollen directly from the pod.

Good Luck and remember "LIKE NITROGLYCERINE"

Also since you are down to two plants you may want to start leaning them over them so you will ge more than two main colas and utilize more of your powerfull light. Leaning them will alow you to keep the light closer to more of the plant at once and have a larger canopy area. To get them to lean just use a string of some type, preferably thick so as not to cut into the plant, and make a loop around the middle of the stalk. Use some type of weight on the other side and just set it on top of the string, this makes adjustment easy. Then start bringing them down a inch or so a day till the top is even with the bottom stems, making a flat top.

P.S. hook us up with some pics =)

Alright everyone I updated my photo gallery so you can see pics of the two...I tried attaching it to the page but it was taking forever...I still might do it later but for now thats all I got...Thanks for the pollenation advice guys..hopefully I dont f*%$ it up...I think I might try doing the leaning thing 420Guy...the white widow is fairly short and compact but the crystal is starting to get tall...I'm trying to keep that light as low as I can for as long a I can without burning it to try and compact some of this stretch...but that bending may be the answer to this problem..I'll have to go to the store and get string though as I dont have any usable ones...when I get it and start tying it down I'll take more pics to show you guys

~~~~~Edit~~~~~
The Pics I was trying to get...2 on the left is WW2, 2 on the right C1
