Smugglers Try To Hide 2.5 Tons Of marijuana In Broccoli Shipment

Falfurrias, Texas, United States (AHN) - Border Patrol Agents working a checkpoint in southern Texas discovered almost 2.5 tons (5,000 pounds) of marijuana mixed in with a shipment of broccoli.

The pot was found in a tractor trailer going through the Border Patrol checkpoint in the town of Falfurrias Saturday morning, the Drug Enforcement Administration told the media.

Drug sniffing dogs alerted agents to the weed.

One man was arrested, but no other details were available about the attempted smuggling operation.
