Snow?

Well I read that rain water is good to use for plants, but now that it's winter there is no rain. My question is, would using melted snow be good to use as the water for my plants?

there is no reason why not, as long as you are getting fresh snow off the top that has not been contaminated with other crap

I wouldn't use snow or rain, distilled water only. think of all the pollution in ur city, that all gets strpped out of the air by rain and snow, its gonna be in the water too.

ya i totally agree i wouldn't do that just a wast of your time and you will be putting more pollutants into your plant that you dont want. if you want something that will make a big difference get some CO2 if you dont already have it.

I have good luck melting down snow personally. I notice a sizeable difference personally when I use melted snow compared to the tap water here, then again I do not live in a large city where polutians are a concern. The benefits are you will get some natural elemts that will may not be in tap water due to the cholirine and other filtering process. I heave hear somewhere on here (alothough not seen it myself) where somtimes even the filtered water may clean those out somr of the natural elemts as well. Having said that I am by no means an expert and relativley new to the site here. I am speaking of what I have noticed personally. I would say try it once, you will not regret it (depending where you live of course). Others who disagree may have valid concerns depending on the arear and the conidtions of the weather.

when i grew w/my pops, he wanted to take the old rez solution and take it out to water the flowers. well we had a nosy neighbor at the time so i was like, "think about it man, its not worth the little benefit to the yard to risk exposure". all it take is someone to wonder once and theyll wonder till they know.

Actually most rain water comes from the evaporated water from the ocean. After it rains that water accumulates into the rivers and then back into the ocean. Rain water only becomes contaminated if you're actually in the city where its raining. If you're outside of the city away from any pollution or smog then rain water is very pure.
