Lookin great kat, we missed you

good to hear everything if workin out with all the mishaps, but i dont think anyone has had a perfect grow, something go's wrong somewhere, no matter how big or small haha. I should kno ;)

The cake sounded goood, only had good edibles one time when my sisters boyfriend made his grandmother a Life Batch. Ate 6 cookies the first thing when i woke up, was full on the 4th haha but shoved the rest down my throat

man i was so gone, a really good high, did even smoke untill like 2 pm that day, the ones from the Clubs are ok, but you usually need a couple of those to do ya good, its always better to make them yourself so you can control how poten then are :eyesmoke:

lookin forward to more updates, i love reading them haha :leaf: :peace:

Missed you too, SICC! You love reading my book chapters, eh? You must be a glutton for punishment!

Yeah, the mishap in the BP (windburn) was all that concerned me, cause the plants were really stressed. If it was mild, I'd have just put them to flower. Oh well, they're flourishing now! ;)

The cake was the greatest! I'd eaten MJ three times before, and the only effect I'd gotten was stomach pain and nausea. (My older son cooked with it twice, and my younger son's friend the other time.) So when my first batch of oil had no color or scent, I figured it wouldn't work. Wrong! I'm going to cook up some more oil hopefully tomorrow. I'm almost out, and do NOT want to go without eating it now that I've finally gotten a real effect from it, and the effect was what the docs keep trying to tell me that narcotics will do (never mind that it's easier pulling teeth with tweezers than it is to get prescriptions for pain pills! lol). They couldn't be more wrong.... narcotics give me horrific stomach pain/nausea and they don't help the pain much at all, so eating MJ solidifies my resolve to stay away from the opiates and other chemically altered drugs that give me side effects that aren't worth taking them.

I've gotten down a routine/schedule this week.... smoke a little bit upon waking for the near instant relief (but not enough to be dopey all day), then eat a bit of "magic" food immediately when I get out of bed which kicks in by the time the smoke wears off, eat a bit more every four to six hours, then smoke again when going to bed. I don't mind a big high when it's bedtime because I'm one of the worst chronic insomniacs you'll ever meet. Oh, and I use the spa when I get up (right after eating a brownie) and again before bed; sometimes more, but those two times are part of my routine now.

I was going to go 12/12 tonight, as my son and his girlfriend finally went home this evening.... I'm the only person around here who remembers not to turn on every light in the house, and since I need a couple of the vent holes left open in the tent for circulation, the kitchen lights can not be turned on during the tent's dark hours; it's easier to be here on my own then it is to yell at everyone about it. ;) But it's time to clean the BP first and go to the "transition" cycle of the nutes, and I'm way too wiped out after a lovely day filled with long drives to get to the hospital to see my mom, and I've been damn near immobile since I got home. Prognosis is not good at all, and it was hell to see her so frail. Her liver has failed, and she's not a candidate for a transplant due to autoimmune disease; her body will just reject it. Livers can sometimes regenerate on their own, so they're working on helping keep good conditions for that. It can happen, but it's a pretty slim chance. If I disappear from here for any given period of time, it'll likely be due to my mom's condition.... but all I can do for now is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

On to happier things, like a quickie photo update....

First a recap from my last post, to compare growth & recovery from the windburn:

Shot from Saturday:

And from Sunday:

Even between 6/06 & 6/07, you can see a difference in growth, if no other way than by looking at the base of the smaller ones in the front.... you can get a peek at some hydroton in the first, and it's nowhere to be found in the second. The two in the back are monsters in comparison; you'd never think they'd suffered like they did from the windburn! (The two little ones got topped for the second time right after the photo on 6/03 was taken; so yes, they are a little bit shorter, but no much as they're growing so fast.)

They are 13" tall (back right), 11.5" (back left), 5.5" (front left), and 3.5" (front right). The front right one took root about two weeks before the front left one did, but it's the slowest growing.... I've been debating the last few days whether or not to just remove that one and allow the others more room in there, but I've a feeling I won't unless advised to do so because it's so hard to toss a plant you've given so much TLC! Plus, it's really bushy & compact, so it could just be how that one wants to grow.

I'm getting more and more curious as to what my yield will be. I've a feeling it's going to be a lot more than I'd dreamed for my first harvest! Well, going to start 12/12 tomorrow night, so it won't be too long before the jury has a verdict! Once my seeds from Attitude arrive, I'll get them going so that I'll have four healthy plants ready to go into flower when this harvest is done. Yep, I'll be having basically a perpetual thing going on starting next grow! Albiet a small one rather than the "grow op" sized ones, but perpetual all the same. I'll tell more about it when I get my supplies for my next grow.... pictures can do more talking than me that way. :p

I'm having such a blast doing this, and it really does help distract me a bit from T's deployment and my mom's condition!

You can really see the. difference in growth bewteen the two pics, i noticed it before i read your post. Sorry to hear about your mother, i hope all go's well, i cant even inmagine how you feel, its hard for me to think later on in life, you will lose the ones you love :peace:

they really look great, recovering well too, like you said, you'd never know anything had happen. What kind of lighting are you going to work with for the flowering period? I like the perpetual growing idea, once i get to a better place, i want to start somthing like that as well, I just harvested my grow yesterday, couldn't be happier, now i have to wait till its one drying until i cant start up my next grow, cant wait to get it started. I sure you will reak in a nice harvest, your plants are doing great, and they will reward you in wonderful, wonderful buds haha  :weed:

I'm using the lights that came with my Stealth Bubbleponics Multi Spectrum kit. (FYI, I got the "deluxe" light set, which turned out not to be a necessary upgrade. Sometimes less really is more! lol) I know I'd have a larger yield if I added more lights, but (1) I'm seriously flat broke, and (2) I'm already gonna have hell trimming all the buds that I'll get from the setup I've already got!

Taco, if you've not been there yet, go to the AeroGarden FAQ/Guide thread. You'll get a lot more info RE: lighting and anything else AG than I could give you.... once I started using the Bubbleponics setup, I focused on learning all I could about that and meanwhile quit reading up on how to mod the AG because I don't need to anymore. ;)

Well, I switched the light timer to 12/12 night before last!
My babies have finally been put to flower!!!

Had some fun putting together a simple video today. The two songs I used are very fitting!

I'm really interested in the bubbleponics thing. Is there any links you could give me that has more information on it. Also is it faster than growing in the AG?

I have the deluxe and I set my AG to the 24 hour setting. Once your roots hit the water, you no longer need the water pump on. It only increases the chance of stem rot. Do you have an airpump and airstones in your AG?

Thank you, Taco! And thanks for getting to Taco's questions, Fox; I never received any email notifications this week and so had no idea that there were replies to my thread.

Nothing much to report, they're just growing like.... well.... weeds! Currently they are 18, 16, 8, & 6 inches tall. Think I'm gonna have just barely enough height by the time they're done.

I've been taking daily photos since going 12/12 on Monday night. Got my camera on the tripod, so that the daily photos will be taken from pretty much the same distance/angle each time. (Until they're larger and I need to move the camera up and back, that is. lol)

Can't wait to see some purdy flowers! Meanwhile, here are my monsters' progress the last five days (first a quick recap from two days before):

No problem Kat. Your plants are looking beautiful.
nice nice nice... like a sea of green.
lookin damn good kat!:)remind me how long have they been veging for?well keep up the good work:)
Lookin great kat, cant wait to see them in full blooooommmmmm :weed:
Thanks guys!

AK47, the larger ones have been vegging since mid-March, and their clones in the front since late April.

SICC, bet I can't wait more than you can't!

OK, so what's new.... I got the "deluxe" Multi Spectrum light set when I'd initially ordered my BP, which seemed to be an unnecessary upgrade after I got them; but now I'm glad I did. LONG story somewhat shorter, the two plants in the back are really dwarfing the two in the front, and they're being deprived of light. (Growing great, but not as well as they would if they weren't less than half the size of the other two.) So when my new "basic" DWC (necessarily cheaper; I've got a water pump to add to it, so it'll be just like the BP but w/four net pots instead of six) unit arrives on Thursday, I'm going to put the two smaller ones in there so that they'll get all the light they need. My next door neighbor dropped and shattered one of the "veg" lights from my "deluxe" set the day we set up everything (he's helped me with SO much the last ten months while my hubby's been on deployment, I told him he doesn't need to buy me a new one), so I still have a spare "flowering" bulb left from that set. SO, when the DWC arrives on Thursday, I'll have one more "veg" bulb from that setup. Then I'll have five working lights, which I'll spread evenly between the two units using separate reflectors instead of the one that came with the Multi Spectrum set. (The photos below will give a visual of how I'll be doing it.)

Meanwhile, I've suddenly got a high humidity problem. It was perfect all through vegging (50-55%), then yesterday and today it just shot up like crazy.... as in between 80% & 90%! Not good!!! Only when the tent is closed, and I have to close it where it's been because there isn't total darkness out here, even at night because my turtles need to have heat lights. So today I moved the whole BP setup to the spare room, which I now have completely dark even during the day. Now I don't need to close the tent! I've still got the plants in there though, for something to hang the lights from as well as more reflection.

My afternoon & evening consisted of....
  • Prop spare mattress & box spring against wall to free up floor space & cover front window.
  • Hang dark blanket over side window.
  • Put plants in empty tub, and move it to back yard - they need light while move is getting done! (You can see in my photos what happens to your back yard when your hubby gets deployed, you physically can't do yard maintenance, the landlord fired the gardners without giving you advance warning, you can't afford to hire gardners of your own for the next month or so, and there's no one able/willing to do it for you. It's a freaking jungle out there! lol)
  • Drain BP (transfer much of the water/nutes to the tub outside so roots don't get dried out while emptying/rearranging two rooms).
  • Remove everything from tent & place out of way in spare room.
  • Move tent (needed neighbors' help; had to be disassembled first due to TINY hallway) & other stufesses to spare room.
  • Place drawers & wood slabs (from broken bed pedestal that I'm now glad didn't get tossed in the dumpster) on tent floor, arranged to hold TWO units side-by-side (other unit arriving Thurs.; will use that for the smaller plants).
  • Refill BP and put everything away, etc., etc., blah, blah!
  • Get into spa IMMEDIATELY.... do NOT pass Go, do NOT collect $200!!!

I'm not doing ANY more major construction/moving/setup until after T gets home, so that either he or our roomie who's moving in after deployment (he's in Iraq w/T now) can do that stuff. My body is sooo pissed off at me! (It's worse than after a full-out gig; which I'd much rather be doing than rearranging half a house! LOL) The only reason I did all of this today when J (the teenager next door that helps me with "big" stuff often) wasn't home was because the humidity became a big issue, and I couldn't put off rectifying this. It was his dad that helped me with getting the tent moved, but he didn't want to help with anything else. Don't get me wrong, I don't look a gift horse in the mouth! But when I see someone with involuntary tears streaming down her face from severe pain and she can't stand up straight, you can bet your ass that I'd help with anything I possibly could. (J is only 15, and he's the only one in that household that has any kind of work ethic. He doesn't get it from his dad, I guarantee you that!)

Well, now that I've busted my ass, broken my body for probably a good week or so, and posted my work for the day here, I'm going back to the spa for a while and then off to bed. :hump:
