You have a great area to grow in. ;)

However, I am confused when you say you are using four 42w cfls which are 150w for each plant.

The math doesn't add up. :|

i was thinking about doing hps but i am scared because those things eat up energy like crazy and give off a lot of heat. about the cfl i am using the 150w bright white with 4100 lumes or so and i will be using 4 bulbs for each plant. the cfl works as a 42w and puts out 150w. safe for my electric bill. 4 of those on top of each plant should be great i believe. for the flowering i will then have 2 150w bright white mixed with 2 150w soft white

hps/mh lights put out more light per watt and less heat per watt than cfl's... In an area like you have, you are going to have to have hid lighting. cfl's work best for small cabinet grows.

The power supply of a gaming computer is in the ballpark of a 600w HPS. An average computer plus monitor draws around 600w total. A small space heater on the lowest setting draws in the ballpark of 600w. Don't be scared, it's really not that much electricity or heat to run a 600w. And with a window for ventilation like that - you won't have any trouble at all with heat.

Looks like you have an awesome grow area in the making - wish I had the space to set a room up like that.

so i am looking in to the hps bulbs and i am not sure how many plants can i put under a 400w hps bulb. i am gonna do 6 plants and how i was thinking on doing it is hang one 400w on both sides of the room and put 3 plants on one side and 3 on the other. will that work out well. another thing is can i use the same hps bulb for vegg and flowering ?

That would work fairly well, they make hps bulbs with a broader spectrum than some. you could just throw in some blueish cfls during veg..

i am really worried about the heat and electric bill from the hps. i had a veryy nice grow with cfls in the veg stage. i am stuck in the middle between hps and cfls

You could get dos 250s and you already got some cfls. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 250 has 3x3, with cfls providing side light. I had a 150 in a 2x5x8 closet, door closed and the fan came unplugged it got up to 77 at the base of the flower pot.

i was just calculating how much it would run me to run 2x400w hps. i got 230 dollars a month. is that possible lol

May be,depends on the state and location. Two 400s would bump my electricity up roughly 30 a month on a 18/6 maybe more. Larger cities tend to have highter prices.
