So your fan for your reflector dies

Was thinking today what would happen if the fan keeping your hoods cool dies? Do the hoods and lights just keep heating up until they either rupture, light something on fire, or possibly fry your plants?

And if you are on a plane travelling 600mph and you get up and walk towards the front are you-

going faster than 600mph
slower than 600mph
going the same speed as the plane

why would it just burn your plants if its not even close enough? the fan you have for air movement may be blowing enough to keep the heat from doing any damage to the foliage and then when you get home you correct the situation. You may have more time than you think to correct, i am running both a 1000 and 600w hps without cooling the lamps and just pulling hot air out of the room is enough.

I should be a little more clear. I mean if you are using aircooled hoods which would essentially be sealed except for the ducting for your fan. The temps in those hoods are going to get extreme compared to a bulb that does not have a sealed hood around it.

Hey super220,I dont believe that bullshit about not getting hot,you cant be running that much wattage without stress and hermie issues.Any good grower is not stupid enough to run that many watts without fans. You must have your lights three foot from the canopy. My buds are growing against the glass they are so close.Whos buds are going to be tighter and wiegh more?

I could never understand why anyone would protect there investment of great value with something of lesser quality. Like cheap hooks and falling lights and broken plants. I just quiver when someone says the light fell or i fried my plants.

I am about 1-2 foot from light right now as I havnt gotten my cool tubes yet, my buds arent doing too bad for now. I plan to hang the lights vertical once I get the tubes,
also I never claimed to be a good grower, just starting out and learning along the way.

You technically would be moving 603 or so MPH, but if we thought like that then we would have to consider how fast the earth is moving and factor that into our equation.

You personally, are walking 3 or so mph I would assume. You're just doing it inside of a plane, consider the plane at that point "Earth".
