SOG and Mother methods

I'm planning on setting up a "2 sea" SOG that has forces clones into flowering every 30 days. So the first clones will be forced to flower, and 30 days letter another set of clones moved over to flower, effectively allowing me 12 harvests a year. My only worry is that the mother plant will not be able to keep up with the rate of roughly 50 clippings every 30 days, which got me thinking...

Is there a method to growing a mother plant that increases it's productivity? I had never given any thought to the mother, I was just going to leave her in the veg cabinet with the clones, but is there a certain way that I should do it that will make my life easier? Any tips/tricks that you personally use that you'd like to share?

if you tie down her main branches, it will cause more growth from lower nodes in a fashion similar to what topping does. This will give you a little more material from which to take cuttings. that being said i think you will need a handful of mothers on rotation in order to keep up with that kind of production. that doesn't have to be a bad thing though,it will allow you to run more than 1 strain and will give you a sort of insurance policy in case your mother gets sick/bugs/mildew.

Good to know. Never actually grown in a system, just grew and then that was it. This is the first time trying to put together a cash crop op. I've actually got a few different plants that I like more than the others, so this works out perfectly

U actually only need 2 mother plants to keep up with your demand. What I do is pot the mothers up in a 6 gallon pot with some good soil. At first u keep topping your moms like every 10-14 days till u actually can see the amount of cuts you will need. Lighting is also the key. An 8 bulb t-5 can grow 2 mothers under it and will cost most likely 15-20 bucks a month. U want to keep the light a little further away then u would think. Stretching on a mother plant is what u want. Makes it real easy to keep count of the cuts and when they stretch u cut off the tops and keep doing that and the whole mother plant will explode.
here is what I'm taking about couple moms that have a lot of cuts on them

Hi,
I did 30 cuttings off two small clone mothers (about 15' tall) but they had 8 weeks to recover. If you let your Mommas get big like Mongo frog suggests, two certainly will be enough and perhaps even just one.

Once you have had your mothers for a year or two they will look like Bosnia trees and you will have more cuttings than you need. Make sure the mothers have the best soil so they will last for years.
