SOG clones

Hey all, Im planning to do a SoG grow but i have a dilemma. I had planned to grow 10 seeds, veg for one month then flower one, but i wanted to wait for it to show sex so i could clone on females since the seeds arent fem. But i read on growfaq that a cutting from a plant in the flower stage slows growth 3x from taking it when the plant was in veg. what do you people do?

Ya veg for a month and they will show pre-flowers.
Clones taken from a flowering plant will take a little longer for them to root.
