SOG Update

Hey guys i am doing sog my setup is simple its been changed from 2-2-2-2 weeks to 3-3-3 weeks.
that way my last tray has more room to get fatter buds under a whole 1000 hps.

those are 2 hps 1000 and ak-47 strain, using the line of humboldt nutrients, MASTER A and B, big up, and the hydro carbs.

those big ones are 4.5 weeks into flowering.

let me know what improvements i can make and should i trim leaves to let light penetrate ? i am not sure about this.

all criticism accepted. help me out!

Don't know all the details so I can't really offer advice, other than to say from the looks of it, the girls are loving life :weed:

I'm embarking on a perpetual system much like yours and have decided on the 3/3/3 set-up as well. Mine are in waterfarms or DWC, but with 2-4 clones per bucket, pulling one bucket every 3 weeks should work perfect. If I have the room I'll double up down the road.

You have me on the lights though as I only have 2x400 and a 600 so I figure the first 6 weeks will be under 400's then slam them with the 600 for final fattening over the last 3 weeks.

Is this your first whole round doing the 3/3/3? Hopefully you hit the numbers you want and all is good!

ya im hoping to do well. the big tray is going to be my first crop. you should really go with the 1000 its killer.

but advice to you, have everything masterplanned before spening those greens.

i fixed soooooo much stuff.

i am hoping a half pound per tray. is that realistic ?

since no one replied i proceeded to trim the bigger leaves off of the plants. more buds are showing through from the sea of green.

Looks like what, 12 - 13 cuts per tray? I think you can definitely hit 1/2p per tray, possibly more as it isn't too hard to get 1z per plant in SOG.

I normally didn't mess with cutting fans when I did SOG as all light was focused on tops of the canopy. The buds gain their size by the energy received from the fanleaves...sort of like solar panels for the buds.

I trim a bit now as I do larger plants for a lower count.

Keep updating as 'd love to know what you do pull per tray.

i was doing 2-2-2-2 for a while but i think you would be off real well with 3-3-3 i am noticing HUGE bud gain over the past 3 days.

i thinks its due to the amount of light for the plants.

i am going to go downstairs and snap some pics before the lights go off.

ok so i didnt have batteries. i built a carbon filter though because the smell was building up.

i made it about 3 feet tall. where can i find enough carbon to fill it up ? at walmart its 5 bucks for maybe a 100th of what i need.

I'm doing an SOG with CFL's and I have tubs with lightboxes over them, then 2 more lights between to spread the wealth. It's working well as I've had a few problems in the past..gremlins in the timers Sooo I'm back on track now.When I find my camera I'll post pics..can't ask my girl child to help"lol" So I'll muddle through. The worst part of a new strain is the wait for the clones(sigh):cry:

ya timers will be a pain in the beggining and break until you find a brand you trust.

i just started some new seeds. so ak-47 will pass then ill have some purple and topp 44 hybrid :DD

i noticed you said a lower count. i will be interested in doing this later. would using 6 plants per tray and topping them be efficient as now ?

what would be the average top increase per plant and would this be the best way to minimize plant number and keep yield ?

also would it be more efficient if i hung a netting over my 3rd flowering tray in order to keep everything together

Oh, but it gets worse..I'd used a co2 generator, but stopped so discontinued the timer..Then when one started to growl I just picked up the spare...weeelll I didn't check it sooo it started going on...off..on..off every 15 min. Did you know that that will restart the veg growth?:confused:

do you know where i could get a LARGE amount of carbon (activated) for my filter ? i need like 1-2 cubic feet of it.

I think I'm going to take an old computer and*gasp* run the whole thing through it, with backup systems in place mostly timers and alarms and a generator for backup power...Wouldn't that be a bitch!! Matter of fact, just set up the genset 'cause we've got winter coming.*shudder*

Still not cheap, but good stuff. Could possibly check Ebay also.

About the plant number thing, I go lower number and larger plants with waterfarm style buckets. I was only soil when I ran SOG....so I can't give much advice on hydro SOG.

I can say a net/trellis type thing will almost always help to keep the sites in tighter to the stronger light. I've learned that just recently with my bucket scrog and am loving it.

Not off the top of my head...I'll scout around. I've got combo fans and carbon..I'll look for the box and get back to you.
