soil getting mold

I'm starting to get green mold forming on the top of my soil for my indoor plants. I'm not sure why, I know the soil has been pretty consistently moist lately, and my lights are pretty close. Any ideas or thoughts would be good. Thanks guys

I'm not sure this applies, but I was getting a bit of white mold on top of my soil, on my indoor plants and I looked it up and it said on the net that it was pretty much normal, just means that the soil is moist, like you said. As long as it doesn't start attacking the plants I think you should be okay. Perhaps you are watering a bit too often? I'm letting the soil dry out until the top crust is visibly dry and that seems to work fine. Just my 2 cents.

i have this in my actual garden, the drainage is not too good there and the sun doesnt touch that part so the water is staying in the ground too long. I suggest putting stones at the bottom of the soil (if using soil) or letting your soil go crusting before watering again.
