Soil Mix, Too much Vermiculite?? HELP

Yea a cup would be 2 much. When I say part im talking about like a 3:1 ratio perlite/vermiculite. Then the rest etc. We dont have the BEST nurseries where I am, and most of the soil already has perlite, and bark which I dont like. Im hoping the perlite will counteract with the vermiculite at this ratio, so I wont have to water every day (I did a mix last night with more perlite than I should have, and that sucker just drains when I pour water, doesnt hold it for shit), so Im not worried about to much water sitting around since not to much verm is being used. I didnt use verm last night and I dont really like my plants without it. Ill have to run some test 8-)

Alright guys I mixed:

3 part perlite
1 part verm
2 part peat
1 part wormcasting
1 tblspoon Garden lime

Problem: The water tends to sit around when I pour it into the soil. Slow it will be alright and drains very well..extremely well actually. I have her on 24 hours and the next day she needs another watering. Is this a problem? I dont want mold or anything, root rot...I thought I mixed enough perlite. Any advice would help.

Watering every day shouldn't be a problem unless your lazy. How often you need to water is also affected by plant size, container size. Peat absorbs water best when it is moist, so if the top of your soil is dried out when you water its not going to absorb that fast. I always break up the surface of my soil before I water with a fork. I dont want water funneling towards the sides because it absorbs slowly, plus it allows the water to come into contact with more moist peat below, so it absorbs quicker.

Davecoulier: Thats exactly whats happening, maybe to much vermiculite. But I only did add 1 cups of verm compared to 3 perl 2 peat 1 wrmcasting and 1 tblspn Garden lime (Btw, I had to lace the garden lime on top of the soil, I completely forgot to add it to the mix!!!!11!!, will this be a problem?

Its fine to topdress it and water it in. Just try to mix it up a little with the top of the soil and then water.
