Soil = more frostyer bud?

I have grown soil and hydro but on my latest grow i have soil an hydeo in my tent
and i have great conditions 24-25 c lights on 19 c off good air movement and 850w in a 1.2 m square tent (4x4)
The plants are fed the same in the same conditions same clones from same mother but the soil plants buds are smaller but really frosty and stinky and smellyer then the hydro buds but the hydro budd are bigger which is expected but not evan nearly half as frosty or stinky as the soil plant they are nearly 4 weeks in to flowering my dwc buckets have great conditions ph never lower than 5.4 never higher than 6.4 ppm steady at aprox 1000 as this i fount to be the swwet spot where they are drinking the same amount of water and nutes ? I never really noticed much diffrence before but now i have done them side by side i can really see the diffrence any body else notice ghis or know why ?

Sounds accurate, I read in a couple places that soil will be better but hydro will yeild more.. I go for quality over quantity

Subcool of course would say (after 20+ years) that there is no comparison.. soil hands down produces sweeter bud.

there are dispensaries that won't buy anything but hand trimmed organically grown. and that's the way it should be.

Soil allows for better terpene development, as does natural sunlight. It allows an environment for beneficial fungus (mychorizae) that aid in nutrient buffering, so the plants not only have a readily available nutrients, but a natural filter/buffer zone. There are less "off-flavors" introduced in the first place with organic soil. In my opinion, while the potency doesn't significantly differ, the flavor and terpene profile do. Your terpene profile/proper development are key factors in the final smell and flavor of your herb.

ive done both and my own personal opinion is...soil blows hydro right out of the water in everything except yield. ...when u develop some skills at soil, your yield will keep right up with a hydro garden with half the problems and half the work. i would put my 4 week vegged soil grown ladies up against any hydro come harvest time...hands down everytime!

not sure if thats true. gardener expierence plays a big roll in what your trying to go up against.

So does coco have the same affect as soil or is it more like hydro because im happy with the size of the buds in the dwc but want the smell and frostness o the soil so im thinking coco in the middle best of both worlds ?

yea coco can give you the best of both definitely it, it is a medium just like soil so i should give the same result

I've been using coco for around 6 months now and will not be going back to soil. You are correct, it's the best of both worlds.

I get faster growth than soil and a better yield. I'm using a mix of coco, perlite and worm castings. All organic nutes and tea. My flowers are frostier and after switching to all Organics the taste is off the charts. Seriously, my patients noticed an improvement in flavor immediately, I didn't tell them; they noticed on their own.

It takes some getting used to, but once you get your system setup coco is the way to go

Hi mate, this is my first time & i have jumped straight into the deep end and started using coco, im currently into my 4th week of veg and my girls are only a foot tall! I was setting my PH at 6.5 for 3 weeks and feeding them every other watering which may be why haha. Ive just set my PH to 5.8 from the last 2 feedings and now feeding everytime, my question is how often do you water them with nutes? Every other day? I was letting my coco dry out for about 3 days (treating it like soil like an idiot) ive heard its very hard to overwater in coco, is it good to keep it moist all the time? Thabks bro!!

So does coco yeild the same as dwc or less i have only ever done soil and dwc but the dwc always outperforms soil in yeild sayin that it jus might be im a rubish soil grower lol

I've used coco for around 10+ grows, use nutrients EVERY feed, dont PH, (the coco buffers to 6.5) i did the ph thing for first 4-5 runs, then found it was pointless.
feed till run off and you should avoid any salt build up.

also, only for the first month (to encourage root growth) would i water any less than once per day, some days i hit them twice, but only if they ask me nicely

Nice 1 for the info brotha! Ive heard PH is ESSENTIAL for growing in coco though, and i agree in what ive read and seen through various tables on PH also. My girls are in 11Litres and im giving them around 1400ml each every time and theres a bit of run off, i last fed them on monday do u think i would be ok feeding them again today? I no all about the "picking Up" method and poking the first inch or so but i just want to know it its ok to keep them moist all the time. Also how many ml do u feed urs? Cheers !

Wow this is the first time i have ever thought of using coco. I can say that i have fed organic and synthetic. My organic was shitty and bland. I grew a romulan, bubba, and GDP. Rom was great and the other to bland. Same guy i got the cuts from used all synthetic and his were amazing. P.S i only used compost in the soil and worm tea.

I feed on a feed-feed-water schedule.

I'm using a tea mix. 5 gallon recipe:
6 Tbs of Guano super tea mix
5 Ts of Botanicare PBP
5 Ts AN Nirvana
3 TS Humboldt FlavorFul (fulvic acid)
5 Ts Humboldt Honey ES
3 Ts Molasses
2 TS Great White (microhaize)
4 TS General Organics CalMag+

That's the base mix for, for flowering I add in AN Big Bud

when I first went organic I got the same results.

Gotta feed them a buffet of different Organics and a good Microhaize supplement works well. Just make sure you feed those bacteria plenty of carbs and sugars... The difference is night and day

i did a little journal, the nutrients i listed were never used all at once, i just added differant ones at differant stages of growth depending on there N-P-K value.

I'm certain i read that canna coco (the one i use) self buffers to a 6.4 - 6.6 range, and have never had a problem since ditching the acid i was using to lower it myself.
