seedlings really are quit strong . sometimes the first set of leafs can look funny. The slight yellow is the soil must be a little hot from what ever it is you used. Worse thing for a seedling is over watering. put the cup on a heat pad if you have one. obviously the warmer the better.

it could possibly be the lighting thats heating up the soil pretty good... i dont have a fan in there right now cause i want her to get at least 3 new growths in and get bigger before i use a fan.

Hey chief I burnt my seedlings early on with CFL.

THEY SAY it's hard to do and practically has to touch, but I found that is incorrect.
i have a 65watt and a 42watt which put off what I thought was little heat. At 2" it burned them.... I moved back to about 4"...

i am using a 3x3x4' space

i live in a mountain environment so the temps are generally cooler here. My CFL had no problem keeping my little grow tent to a good soil temp of 72f even with a small fan. I would say definitely a fan, even if it is a small one. Fresh air is important.

IM NEW, take what I say with a grain of salt.

Who ever is saying put the cfl 2" away from a seedling is an idiot, sorry. Doesn't have to be that close.
I like my lights close, and it works for me, however, never put them 1-2" away, because I have had under CFL's 1-2" of growth on a new shoot that reached up and grabbed a CFL...over night...

Here is an issue that will happen that most do not take into consideration determining the distance of lights [all types] from the plant canopy's top...

The RH that is between your hot/semi hot lights and the top of your plants, that area of 2" CFL's and 12" HID/HPS will have VERY LOW humidity... The RH will most likely be 15 points lower than at the base of your plants...
So if RH of room is 45% in BUD... at your meter... the area between your lights and canopy will be 30% RH at times... this does cause your top leaves to dry a bit... Keep it in mind when you choose a light distance...
Good Luck!
