Soil question

Ok, I have eliminated 3 males from my closet of 8. I have 2 definite females now and growing some awesome looking flowers at this point. I have a 3rd that has sprouted little hairs and I am going to see where they are in a day or so. I am happy at this point. It is kind of sad taking a plant and cutting it off at the soil level and tossing it.

Anyways, My question is this.... I have some great soil and I am happy with the content and makeup of it. I have 3 pots now that contain that soil and they are all empty. I have pulled the old males up, with as much of the roots as I could get. All that is left is a nice, dark rich soil.

Can I "re-use" that soil for future plants without the chance that ANY remaining roots or residual having any affect on future of any plants that I may decide to transfer into it?

May be a goofy question to some but I have such good luck with this soil as far as ZERO disease, bugs or nute issues.

Your help is always appreciated and thank you ahead of time

Ive reused soil before but its always best to use fresh.Id say go ahead and use it but dump it out and go thru it and get every single root out.

Yea, I think I will. I am letting it sit covered in the garage now anyways. It'll be a few months before I start something up anyways. Thanks John

I have reused soil for years as it is a big hassle bringing it up from the basement. I have a large plastic trash can that I put it in, I turn it over in there until it has dried sufficiently to reuse. Now that I am growing in a perlite/vermiculite mix, I do the same thing. Works for me. Schlepping grow medium up and down the stairs is a young man's game.

I reuse the soil out of containers over and over and over again. I do discard any soil if I have had a bad problem with disease in container. I have 3 piles, current grow soil, ready for second cycle and the new compost pile, I put the old soil into the new compost pile mix and then it is ready and good as new its next rotation.
Good Luck
