Soil!

I need soil for my first grow and Fox Farm is not available anywhere where I live!

I went to every nursery in town and could not find anything with no nutrients in it.

I read somewhere that a mixture of peet moss and Top Soil would work fine, does anyone have more info on this?

Or another suggestion?

Much appreciated.

Most nurseries sell plain topsoil, sometimes in bulk or you could ask them what soil mixture they use because chances are they dont use time release MG or something.

If absolutely necessary you could use MG organics. Ive heard that it work ok in a pinch. Good Luck

^Whatever you choose, I'd say that the most important thing is to add perlite. I use a 20% perlite mix, and that works great, even when i was still using MG soil(yes, the kind with time released nutes). Honestly, I'm not sure why everybody has so much trouble with MG soil. They keep complaining of fert burn, but I never had a problem with it, not even once, and I've started from both seed and clones. My only guess is that they try to feed them nutes waaaay before they need it. I use FF now, but honestly, it isn't THAT much better than when i was using MG soil.

Anyway....add a bunch of perlite to whatever soil you choose, and that'll give it nice drainage qualities. Then get the feeding schedule right,(along with all the other stuff, like temps, light, etc...) and they should grow just fine. You could also add other stuff like worm castings, vermiculite, etc....but I don't see any reason to complicate things, as drainage is what your looking for. :)
