I just added PH down from general hydroponics to my water. I watered my plants that are in sunshine mix #4 with it to lower the ph because I dont have anything else to lower it. Was this a good or bad idea?
I use the same Sunshine mix #4 & always PH down to 6.3 w/ gh & use superthrieve. I use House & garden line for nutes. The roots Excellerator is the bomb! Sounds fine to me my girls always grow me great smoke & yeilds. Peaceactually i didn't before hand because this mix comes with dolomite lime premixed, so i figured my PH was set to begin with. they look a litle perkier after i watered with the PH down, but i also added some superthrive which always perks them up. so I dont know.
the Ph should have been OK to start with, but it won't do any harm I guess. Was this a good or bad idea?
Then what the f is wrong with them? im trying systematic eliminationthe Ph should have been OK to start with, but it won't do any harm I guess.
Yes. #4 is basically inert when it comes to nutrients. I used to add supplements in the pre-mix, from bone meal to guano and worm castings. Good stuff though, I liked working with it.i think the problom is the plants need food. sunshine mix #4 is a soilless. i think u have to add nutes.
its only (1) 1000w dual arc and its just about 2 feet away. and yea i have been feeding with fox farms big bloom and grow big as directed at 1/4 strength, and only once i tried to bump up to 1/2 strentgth and the babies looked a little burnt so i backed off. point is i have been feeding and they shouldnt be hurtin for food. Ill give more grow big for N next feeding and we'll see. Now on one of them a rust-yellow color is developing on some higher leaves. This isnt the classic yellow that usually turns to brown. ??In the pics, those 2x1k lights looked a bit close for those size plants.
