Solar power

Any solar pannel system is for hydroponics. It just depends on your power use and the power catcher(solar pannels), etc.

All solar panels put out DC power which is unusable by HID lighting, you not only need the panel, but also a battery and an inverter so it can turn the DC power into usable AC power. Expect to pay $5,000-$10,000 for each 1,000 Watts of power you need for a quality solar system.

If you want to grow under solar powered HIDs you're barking up a tall expensive tree.
However if you're growing under the sun and want to work out some sort of solar powered watering system; First off, thats a really interesting idea i've never really considered, Outdoor Hydroponics.
You could probably get away with Something like this.
It claims to be ideal for pumps. I dont really know anything about solar power, but for 89 bucks i'm considering it myself just for shits and giggles. You could grow in places where the soil isn't good, although camoflageing solar panels would be a bit of a task to be sure.
Please elaborate on your plans, i find this very interesting.

I think the best way to go with this is DWC because all you need to do is run a small air pump with enough head pressure for your system. this can be done for very cheap with a small solar panel, battery, charge controller, and inverter. I'd say under $300 for a good system.

but youll do all this then you got this huge system somewhere in the middle of nowhere (Hopefully) and helicopters can see it like a flag on camo LOL.
