does anybody know what kind of solar power setup would power a 400 watt HID system?

your kidding right? you realize how much solar panels cost?

That would be totally awesome whitebombs let us know what you find out. Unfortunately I can't help ya but good luck with it. I am sure it would pay for itself eventually.

Mm hm. Solar panels are expensive-so is the inverter, the batteries, the charge converter. Or if you know nothing about that stuff you can buy the overpriced kit package. You're talking AT LEAST $600 for a cheap put together solar panel system..and over a weeks time it will have gotten you enough energy to power your 400watt light for all of 2 hours..LOL.. do the math...

i bet if you put 2 1000 watt lights 2 feet from the solar pannels you could power a 100 watt hid
