Solid particles in my Res

i just checked the water temp in my res and its about 78degrees F, i know that it's warmer than it should be and i have a fan blowing across the top of it now + ice packs being frozen right now.

but there are white particles in my res and i don't know what it is. also there is a off white/creamish colored mess crusting around where the top of the water level is.

there are no nutes in this res, and the water is from tap

what could this be...i'm going to change out the res water tomorrow when i have time.

My guess would be algae. Is there light getting to your res? I understand that unless you have total darkness, algae will grow.

Look into using H202 to fix problem.

it sounds like you have really hard water. you may want to test it with a ppm/ec meter.
