use a ph soil tester... they are cheap... you can get them at lowes or home depot.. anywhere with a decent gardening department..

flushing wont do anything directly to your soil.. but it will remove salts and other build up that are in the soil... salts/build up can lower the soils ph.. so removing them can help to limit ph fluctuation related to those things.. but to actually change the ph you will have to use soil additives..
