Pot Bust Leads Investigators To Injured Dogs

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Corvallis police said a marijuana bust led investigators to 15 dogs, some of which were injured from fighting.A team of Benton County deputies and police said they found 14 pounds of marijuana, cash and distribution materials at two Corvallis homes, located in the 1000 block of Northwest Fillmore Avenue and the 5000 block of Southwest Technology Loop, on Wednesday.During the search, officers found evidence that led to another search warrant for dog fighting, according to the Corvallis Police Department.On Thursday, deputies and police said they found 15 dogs, some of which had injuries consistent with dog fighting, at a home in the 19000 block of South Fork Road in Alesa.The dogs were removed from the home and evaluated for rehabilitation.Three Corvallis residents were taken into custody in connection with the pot raid. Officers said 32-year-old Cody Hufeld, 29-year-old Victoria McKenna and 28-year-old Charles Newquist were taken to the Benton County jail on drug charges.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and additional charges are expected.

(this article is why we need to legalize and regulate.... because not everyone who smokes pot, or even sells it, has a dog fighting ring in their back yard..... this makes us look bad... now onto some liter news)


OPD Arrests One in Huge Pot Bust 3/18/10

March 18, 2010

Odessa, Texas - Officers with the Special Investigations Unit, S.W.A.T. Team and the Crime Scene Unit of the Odessa Police Department with assistance from the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement, executed a narcotic search warrant at 600 E. 36th Street on Wednesday.

During the execution of the warrant, officers recovered approximately 950 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $570,000. Also seized was approximately $180,000 in U.S. currency.

Reynaldo Albert Valenzuela, D.O.B. 06-04-1968 of Odessa was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and transported to the Odessa Detention Center pending federal charges.

and that's the news for the day.... dicks fighting dogs, and the cops in TEXAS (FYI USED TO LIVE THERE) think a pound of weed cost 600 bucks.

this is one of those times when im thinking "thank god these guys were busted" i hate seeing any animal get hurt. these are the type of people that give pot smokers a bad name.

and i too would like to find that street where i can get a pound of bud for $600!

its texas.... the guy has a mexican name..... probably shwag, so the price is exaggerated.... you can find pounds of mexi-shwag in texas for around $3-500 a lb all day.... it's still not worth it though:eyesmoke:

Dude, even at 40 for an ounce, that's more than 600 bucks... I lived outside of austin bro, I never saw a 300 dollar pound of anything.

ounce price compared to lb/lbs prices is a bit different.... If you're buyin ounces for $40, that means someone is selling them for $40, and making enough money to outweigh the possible risks.... I can guarantee you that you can get shwag that cheap;-)

It may be different further south, but up where I was at bro it was easier to get an 8th of good bud, then a pound of schwag.


now... I do yield the possibility though, as Odessa, Texas is 5 hours outside Juarez.... and that make anything possible.

I mean really... if one of my friends came back with a pre historic raptor in a cast iron cage, and I asked him where he got it... and he said Juarez... I wouldn't ask anymore questions.
