so, were all of the many countries who had bad intel also involved in this plot to create a war? they had to be, because they operate independently of the US.
if we were the only country coming up with reasons to go to war then maybe your statement could stand up but given the reality of the international consensus regarding WMD your assumption that the CIA is infoulable is obviously in err.

i would have to agree with Vi; if Bush became a coward about terror like the dems, and if he continues to act like Mexico is an extension of U.S. i'm going to regret my vote. yes, Bush has made and will continue to make human mistakes; i don't regret my vote now and i don't see any likely need to because of the great job he has done while in office.
all the people who need to hate the democratic opposition should be fair enough to at least see what has been going on lately. our country has never faced the challenges we are now in and i for one am very happy that we had the right man in office. things could be very different.

which of the dead are you talking about; unborn children, people over 85, suicides, car accidents, robbery victims?
how many didn't die today?
how many of the dead are the heroes who volunteered to die so that we can live in peace and liberty?
how many of those heroes died knowing that they did their best and their country loves and supports them?
why doesn't unity ever displace the need for polarization and discord?
the world pretty much follows our lead. i remember the months and months of searching for nothing. wasn't the UN ready to leave?
where's ben laden? isn't he the target? he was on day 1. where's ben laden?
how do WMD's and 911 tie together? is one the other? what IS this war?

Okay 7, how many soilders have YOU known to die in one day....? I know these tallys.......I know how many soldiers died in the month of August just from the base I worked on......Do any of you know anyone close that has been injuried in the military that is under a captins rank........If yes then you know what a shitty deal they are getting....do you know how long the R&R is supposta be for those soldiers that come back from Iraq, & Afganistan, I don't see any of you guys with these heart strings playing for Bush & his goverment jumping up to make our military any stronger they will re-open the draft b4 that happens........We need to replace a soldier with a soldier.....Under Bush that will never happen most of our front linemen are under paid most of the families have to apply for aid.....for monies.....as they are low income....the health benefits aren't even there anymore cause the goverment can't replace the PA's and the Doctors they ent overseas to help those that tried to harm us.....weed out all the men from over there and let the women run the country, as the men have nothing but terrible things on their minds if we all don't believe in their gods......Isn't that like the holiscost( sorry spelling) It reminds me of the Nazi's and Hitler....... except it is being done near holy ground.....and they are killing because we all don't belive like them....Oh yeah FDD, you haven't heard Bin Laden was not who caused 9/11 they swear it was old what's his name that got hung.....yeah......an eye for an eye but he didn't get it as badly as he needed it...I think it was a fast death for all the misery he caused......Bin Laden needs to be glad this bitch isn't in the front lines I'd shoot every fucker that looked like him in ANY of his pictures......

The goverment has a good wrap....come work for us we will provide you with housing, health ins., free child care....., lets see oh yah the GI bill....., but when your washed up you get nothing.....but VA hospitals......& a fucking BS education, well maybe ... so who is the goverment targeting.....Our not so bright low class, low income folks.....yeah that is right if I get her son or daughter to join....when I miss treat them, or get them hurt, or get them killed no one will miss them except their families they are sending there low income home to......certainly not Mr. Bush.......I only say Mister because my mother raised me better than to call him an ignorant piece of shit.....oooopsss did I say that out loud......sorry mom.

i think bin laden is the target for society's need to personify the evil of the extremists. strategically, i look at it this way. he is on our list. that HAS to be slightly unsettling for him. have you ever had a great high paying job and knew you were going to get fired? that's him, only his pink slip is going to come in the form of a bomb turning him into mist or a .50 cal emptying his head out at ANY moment. in a purely strategic view, this is superior to having him in custody or dead. he also knows that we now have a president who means business, not one who will notify al qaeda allies about our strikes several hours in advance. (ie. tomahawk 1998 )
politically, this current situation seems like failure, but politics are nothing more than a game of perceptions and providing well prepared vantages to an Average audience.
strategically, the longer he retains a leadership position the longer al qaeda is encumbered. politically, it looks bad. it's your choice, you want him dead or you want him rotting our enemy from the inside out?
the WMD issue was part of a comprehensive rejection of Failed U.N. leadership. Saddam kicked the inspectors out while he knew he had a weak US president, and he ran unchecked for years. he was known to be laundering oil for food money (the UN, with Clinton's support, decided that cash was just as good as food) and there were some highly suspicious activities revealed in satellite photos. we were also getting intel from several independent sources that he was back at the chemical weapons game. the intel world is an ego driven one, this is one arena where ego is very useful, no agency will submit to another's desire, that would be counterproductive so i have to, respectfully, laugh at the notion that other countries would serve up custom intel for the U.S.A. a la carte. there is no logic for this, not even in the most well contrived conspiracy theory.
do i think we should have gone to war with Iraq? no, but i do understand how and why the decision/error was made. now that we are there we have to finish this. we can't go back in time, only forward.
oh, about the U.N. wanting to leave. yes, as an organization they did want to high tail it out of there when the initial searches found nothing. several experts however, VOLUNTEERED to stay behind and continue the search because they were so certain that saddam was at it again. they DID find tons (literally) of circumstantial evidence but nothing concrete. personally, i believe saddam destroyed the stuff, there were high amounts of chemical and biological agents detected at several of the suspected sites.... believe what you will.

hey Blazin, too many soldiers die, even one is too much but we have to get this thing over with sooner rather than later. i am very very blessed in that all of my enlisted military friends and family who have served in Afg or Iraq have not been injured, i am very very thankful for this, beyond thankful.
i agree completely about the need to shift funds to our troops. we are at war but the pork spending has still hit record levels and it is a SHAME that we allow this insanity to continue. even now congress is looking at a bill to slash funding for military equipment and medical while spending more on pork projects. absolute travesty!!!!!
when at war the people back home have to sacrifice and instead of the government fueling this thing with credit we need to slash the federal government down to it's real purpose.
no leaders have stepped up and demanded that we slash federal growth and spending, they have done the opposite to get nice sound bites and pretty headlines. we need to take our country back.

yes, they offer lots of benefits to young people who wouldn't have them otherwise, but the U.S. military is comprised of some of our brightest, hardest working citizens.
yes, it is more likely for a kid from a $30,000 per year household to join than say a kid from a $120,000 per year household but it doesn't mean they aren't bright and it doesn't mean they won't use their military experience to help them build a better future for themselves.
