We got a couple of days of rainy weather coming, so far my outdoor has no mold or bug problems which is amazing because i thought i would at least have a bug problem this year.. No way to cover my plants right now, and the buds are thick. This is the lower branch of the nuken i'm growing, by far the strongest of all of them. In the last week it started to reek and the smells coming off it went from earthy to almost fruity and skunky! They say nuken is prone to mold, well i got this far without any problem.. I think i might just give her one more week or 1.5 weeks at most before harvesting. Lets hope she can handle this weather..

Im fighting some powdery mildew at the moment and am contemplating doing the chop with the risk of such a good soaking coming

Woke up this morning.. I guess my 9-10 foot tall northern lights did not do good enough with its 6 foot supports since half the plant was not supported, we had lots of rain and some heavy wind, woke up to see 2 of the branches almost 90 degrees facing towards me. I went to assess the damage, not bad at all. The stems are thick, healthy and flexible so while the whole plant was bent over nothing was cracked. I added some tied supports a little higher up the branch but really i should just buy some 8-10 foot supports next time this happens because the top of the plant needs the most support in heavy wind when its tall and not bushy like mine. Only topped twice so there is 4 main colas, not trained at all which was a dumb mistake i thought i'd try this year. Also got root-bound after being in the 15 gallon pot for a few months, the plan is to go in the ground next year and do lots of LST.

i'm cutting her down in 2 weeks i think, hopefully she lasts until then.. no mold yet

Got a good pic of the purple nuken pheno i grew from a bag seed, every time it rained today i made sure to shake it off right away. Planning to do that everyday, im thanking the weed gods i have no mold so far.. Just checked the triches, mann the colas are getting dense and the calyxes just started to swell but she isn't done like i thought.. Looks very close!!! As soon as i see amber i'm cutting her down, 10% would be ideal. The northern lights and the 8 ball kush were also bag seeds but are just yielders not quality lol. Nice big buds but not nearly as much crystal or nice smell as the purple nuken!

The other bud im holding in the last pic is the northern lights/big bud, i think she still has a good 2-3 weeks to go but man look at how fat it is! i have big hands, i need to take a pic of it compared to a beer can next time.

Soo close!! Fuckin caked with crystals though, if you guys could smell it you would be amazed... Berries and gasoline. I thought nuken wasn't suppose to smell this good, i wonder if the seed was perhaps a mix of nuken being pollinated by another strain it was growing beside?

I can't stop smelling my hand right now loll, when i grew my first indoor (Profile pic) I thought man indoor bud gets way more crystally than outdoor! Then i have this pheno.. I guess its all about the pheno haha, i think the amount of crystals on this compares to my best indoor plant or might even be the most crystals I've had on a plant so far! Never thought it would happen outdoors

IMG_2987.JPG IMG_2994.JPG I got the powdery mildew, gonna treat with baking soda and water sprays until harvest and magnesium sulfate sprays (until I flush) and then wash in water and peroxide solution before drying with fans and hanging. It just showed up for me and I'm trying to be optimistic. In week 6 now, looking to get a couple more good weeks if possible, they are just swelling now.

Growing Cherry Pie outdoors in Southwestern Ontario and it's week 8 and i pulled 2/3 plants and letting my last one go until Thanksgiving. No powdery mildew or bud rot at all. was grown in organic soil with organic nutrients. plants got pollinated by hemp fields up the road.. this last plant I defoliated almost all the leaves off except sugar leaves because it's pretty much ready but I want this last plant to have more CBN. I shocked it by defoliating in late flower but it won't hermi because it's already pollinated. just want to see how far this Southwestern Ontario weather can go. tomorrow overnight Is suppose to be 6C

This weather sucks. RH in high 80s and rain everyday.
I'm just getting in to week 7 and if I harvest now it will all be premature.

Anyone else getting a bit worried?
Cut 6 plants of one strain down, but i had other issues too. Have 6 GG4 I'm taking the big buds off, then I'll probably take all the big buds down (where mold starts). If it looks worthwhile I'll then spray with diluted peroxide and follow with baking soda spray. Is this a bad strategy? All input invited.

Yea I'm not seeing bud rot yet, although I may just be missing it.
I started spraying with dishsoap/oil/baking soda diluted and it really knocked back the PM.
It also turned any white hairs it touched a dark red and burned a few fan leaves so I probably should have diluted it more.

I feel like it's still really early at least for my plants. I have 4 strains, and even they all look 3 weeks out from being truly ripe. I just went out and lollipopped them pretty good. Hope the sun comes out.

I used a tablespoon of baking soda per gallon with just a couple drips of dish soap, I didn't get any leaf burn but it did turn the stigmas orange/brown a quicker. It seems fairly effective against the powdery mildew I was battling. It is not even spreading on the leaves that were already affected. I have 2 weeks to hit the full 8 weeks of flower but the weather is beating my plant up. 10c nights, 35km/h winds, rainy, cloudy and the colas are bending every stalk at this point. I don't think I can't hold out much longer. The calyxes have finally swelled, waiting for first signs of foxtailing but without full sun I'm doubting it's going to happen. My flush has started taking affect and the plant is now cannibalizing itself. It's hard to pick a time to flush when you're outdoors dealing with weather, I was a bit conservative and started a week early. When your plant is out of nutrients, the day to day changes can be drastic. Of the plants my neighbor and I have harvested, dried and are now curing, only one of my mason jars smells off (like wet straw), everything else smells wonderful. I order a new set of curved blade teflon coated snippers, I'll likely start harvesting when they arrive Tuesday, the weather looks bad after that.Capture.PNG .

I'm still waiting for my pistils/stigmas to turn. Most of them are white at the base with brown tips, and have been that way for a week or two. The calyxes/bracts on the lower branches are twice the size of the ones higher up, but smaller than the seeded ones.
Does anyone know what temperature the buds stop developing at? I know photosynthesis slows down below 20 C, but that's general, I haven't been able to find cannabis specific info. I know that a lot of warm area plants have a different temperature range (hot peppers for example, as soon as the daytime temp is below 12 C they stop growing, if it lasts for more than a week they're done for).

Are you not growing in soil?
Are you flushing flushing the soil?

I'm in soil (1/3 black earth, 1/3 peat mix, 1/3 turface (Baked clay coarse grit soil amendment used for my bonsai soil)) and yes I'm flushing the soil. I won't use this recipe again, but I like the added turface, it just improves drainage and buffers a little bit.
The sun just came out, pics from moments ago. First 3 pics are mine front and back and a little pineapple express. The other pics are from next door. He's got 2 plants left to harvest, they're ready.

Ok I'm confused about how you even flush soil?

I didn't think you could
I also figured it wasn't needed if you don't use synthetic nutrients?
It isn't needed unless you've waaay overfed your plants. And it doesn't matter if the nitrogen in your bottle comes from organic grass fed cow piss or a lab somewhere, it's still nitrogen. If you're top dressing organic amendments, then it's a lot harder to overfeed.
If you're planted straight in the ground trying to flush your plants is silly at best. Leave flushing/leaching to the hydro folks.
