Did you see the fucking booster rockets return to earth and land on their fucking own?

Like it was CGI sci-fi movie stuff. Fucking bonkers.
Yeah, I just happen to switch on the tv for a few minutes as it was about to lift off. Coolest thing I've seen in a long time. The two booster rockets were unreal.

And did anyone catch the douglas adams quote on the lcd display? They are apparently playing major tom on a loop (though nobody will hear it) on the stereo.

i thought it was heading to the sun. at least thats what i thought the "news" reporter stated.
The Falcon Heavy’s upper stage will attempt the final burn after the six-hour coast, placing the car in its orbit. The Roadster is going into a special orbit around the Sun that will take the car nearby Mars’ orbit, without the Tesla actually getting too close to contaminate the Red Planet. After, the Roadster will conceivably remain in deep space indefinitely (unless someone decides to go retrieve it someday).

I wonder if they flatened the tires, after all they would probably explode in the vacum of space.

Musk joked before the launch that he just hoped it made it far enough that when it explodes it wouldn't cause any damage...

And now there's a Tesla Roadster in a stable stellar orbit.
