Hi guys!

Which spectrum is better for veg? I can get the 5000k 80 cri CLU046-1212 with 147lm/w or 4000k 90 cri clu046-1212 with only 117lm/w. Is it better to loose a bit on the red spectrum for extra efficiency or get higher cri with more red.

I belive 5000k has more photons but not sure, anyone with insight?

USE 5000K FOR VEG if you have a seperate light for flowering in 3000/3500K.

in most instances 4000 kelvin offers the best of both worlds

being 6500 k = vegging or similar to blue sunlight great for leaf growth

and 2700 k = flowering stage later, but in veg stimulates those hormones that actually create stems

4000 kelvin now known as 'Daylight'

...er ...6500 - 2700 = 3800 (4000) +/- 2000 (depends on maker)

good luck

For veg you want more blue not red, forget the higher CRI. See if you can find the 1212 in the 5000K in 70CRI or 80CRI and use that for veg. On the citizens the 4000K spectrum will do you well for the flowering lights or the all around do it all lights.
