Christ I hate going grocery shopping stoned. The wife and I are "tight" financially right now but I made a little cash doing some side work and I do love cooking so we went out to the grocery store together. Neither of us really wanted to go to walmart since we had a little extra cash since our local walmart is like Mecca for rednecks.

Off to one of the big box stores and shop we did. I was not really extremely baked and I was still trying to be cheap but get things I had been needing for a while but putting off (spices mostly). My wife on the other hand (who acts like more of a stoner than I do and has smoked once in her life) is tossing everything she can get her hands on it the cart.

We get to the check stand and like 1/4th of my stuff has been scanned and its passing 3 figures. Settles at $297 which means I am doomed to another month of schwag. Either way it worked out since I now have a shit ton of good food, a happy wife and hey, at least I still haz weed

Got a costco around you? Between costco and publix, my wife can usually fill her car's trunk for <$150. And that's with mostly brand name stuff too.

I shop at costco and easilly spend $300 on a half cart (it is a large cart) of food. Granted you get 3 times as much food as you would at a grocerie chain store.

Get used to it, because the way Obama and the other democrats are printing and spending money we don't have bread will be going to $100 a loaf soon

haha, definately not the way to do it in my experience. when i first moved in, me and the flatmate did similar as we had money at the time, pre-rent and such, we checked in £200 in sainsburies just on kupboard fillers, dry pasta, baked beans etc, figured whey, it'll last months, 1. FAIL, instead of normally running out, i just kept eating :P lasted a few weeks

Damn, go to Smart & Final. That place stomps Ralph's, Costco, Vons, by like 30% off.
We filled a trunk and two back seats for under $180. Plus they have boxes of candy. Woo woooo!

You must buy rice and flour at Costco. A package of steaks is like $30

costco is the bomb esp when it comes time to returning stuff, they are a very good company plus headquarters is only and hour from me in kirkland wa. I like their home stores but they are closing them down. Luckily it is only me that goes there and I am the only one on the card. Boyfriend on the other hand is problematic in the worst way

i try to shop at local food stores i recently lost my job and my boyfriend works part time i try to do side jobs as well so i go to stores that dont have bags and you have to use boxes or your own bags to carry to food and you have to pack it yourself thoes types of food stores are really cheap i also try to buy things that will last a while
like bigger packages of beef i can make like chili with ect things that will last longer food wise.

Welcome to the land of Obama, where taxes don't go up...(oops they did)...and the cost of living will be okay (oops, it isn't).....

Have no fears though, eventually the private sector will pull us out of this insanity, despite the Presidents efforts to the contrary.

I like Costco, but you have to plan on spending about 20% more money, and in return you get about twice as much.

It's great if you plan to cook and freeze in bulk, but it's still $300 a trip.

yes costco is a good price... too good!!! thats why u always spend sooo much more cuz A: its bulk so obviously its gonna cost more if ur getting more.. and B: cuz its such a good price ude think ur stupid not to buy it and C: theres sooo much shit in there with good prices that u wonder around and end up picking up more then food... ive gone for preccoked bacon and pop, and walked out with a big screen... ahha..over all, for freezer and processed foods, costco is the place to go

after spending 300 dollars for food every 2 weeks or so. and put it all away. the fridge and cabinets still look empty and i blow threw the food even faster then if i just went out and bought a meal a day. say im at work and i want steak. then i would go after work and buy steak. instead of haven it at home and to easy to eat. my stomach never tells me when im full. i just keep eating. and dont gain any weight.

Ah, the eternal economic conundrum: Money for Weed Vs. Money for Food. Purple Haze and Saltine Crackers, or Hot Pockets and skunky oregano. The only path to happiness is a happy medium. :weed:
