Check out this little freak show! It's a leaf-on-a-leaf. Interesting mutation... I bet this same plant will do the weird bud-on-a-leaf thing later on in the cycle. We shall see!

I've seen something similar with a couple blades, but never a full leaf coming out of a leaf That's neato burrito!

Ya, it's a new one for me, too. Pretty neat, though.

Quick pruning/bending this evening, alfalfa tea tomorrow, and then flip the lights on Sunday or Monday. It's just about go time!

The uniformity is pleasing to my ocd. :thumbup:

How many weeks would you say this type of training adds to your veg time Spicy?

10 days, maybe? It's hard to say since I've never run the same strain with and without mainlining. Keep in mind, even though the veg takes a little longer, it's not wasted time. The roots are still growing, and the main trunk/foundation is fattening up.

I've been wanting to try this, but with a perpetual garden I've always wondered if the juice is worth the squeeze?? I don't have any height or space issues in flower. Tons of room, so training isn't a must for me. But, I'm on a tight schedule that wouldn't allow me any extra time in veg. Right now my cuts go: 2 weeks in the cloner, 3 weeks in a 1/2 gallon container, and 3 weeks in their final home which is a 7 gallon container ..... then flipped to flower. Rinse repeat.

Would this be doable, and of any benefit to me given the info above?

Stow- I don't think mainlining would help you out much in that kind of setup. It's a little trickier with clones (from reading, not personal experience) since you have alternating nodes. From what I hear, it's tougher to achieve the even canopy by mainlining clones since the branches aren't all originating from a single node. I think in your situation you may be better off just topping once or twice or maybe doing a little LST.

Now that I think of it, I did give it a half assed try with a round of clones a while ago. The branches were all different sizes, so I ended up scrapping the mainline plans and just bending/tying them into bush shapes.

With alternating nodes. You just pinch the taller branch to slow its growth. The Lower branch will catch up. Then when the plants get huge and if they are un even. Bend and tie down the taller branch a little more. Nugs main lined with as many seeds as clones. There's plenty of clone main liner pics that he did in that thread. He explained how to main line with clones too.
