The best homemade stuff ive used is 1/4 tsp veg oil, 1/4 tsp washing up liquid with hot water infused with hot hot chillies, and spray on underleaves and over. worked well, p.s use goggles to avoid contact with eyes.

dude,i swear by those no pest strips (hot shot}. i had a bad infestation and 4 days later they were dead. it is by far the easiest eradication for the mites...been using them (when needed) for over a year. i no longer fear the borg. i lost my share of battles, but i finally won the war!!!

Not too sure about mixing something myself - dont want to f+ck up and destroy the lot! i have some pest strips at home grow plenty and they are just sticky strips for flys is that what your referring to?

if you want to get rid of them for good u need to flood your plant neem oil really doesnt get rid of them but rather controls them
so u need to keep spraying neem oil every 3 - 4 day 3 times
or so but funny thing is they will come back again and again
controling your humidity is a key factor as well as heat insects love humidity and heat you need to first control that keep humidity low like in the 50's
so know your heat insect eggs will hatch when u reach in an around 80 degrees

now what u got to do is get a 50 gallon drum fill it with luke warm water add detergent dish soap
anti bacterial kind of soap 8 drops per litre of water 50 gallons = 189 litres once u did this stir 50 gallon pot
grab your plant and tip it over put it tottaly in the drum up to soil keeping hand on soil as you don drop plant in there
and flood them fckers good

stickybob showed u a nice site to get help... you need to use a miticide if u have an infestation... it will kill them. then do a follow up after one week... then I use azatrol and it will control most pests but doesnt kill them immediately... takes three days, so use it afterwards to control them its safe and very effective. I also add some kelp, or like magic green in the spray at the same time to jazz them up some... good luck !

I agree with grow plenty - Hot Shot Not Pest strips - about $8 at most hardware stores. It looks like an air freshener, but gives off bug-toxic vapor (not so good for you either). Use it for a few days with your cab/room all sealed up - no fans, no vents, no HID lights. Use or put in a couple of cfls to maintain the light cycle. After a few days, vent it good, seal up the No-Pest strip in a bag and save it if you ever see them again.

But you won't.

i hang mine in front of oscellating fan ...it comes on when lites go off, and off when lites come on.theres no mixing, spraying,or praying and its cheap...and it WORKS. some will say theyre bad, i personally dont know that for a fact, hell..i aint dead yet. so the choice is yours but its the cheapest kill method ive ever used....good luck!

I'm sure both methods work equally as well - the goal is to flood your space with the vapor.
I figured the process I used would cause the most damage to THEM and the least damage to ME.
It seems to be one of those borderline hazardous things - the Gov has come close to banning it several times.
I'm not one of those anti-chemical people, but I figure if I can easily minimize my exposure, so much the better.

Op-OMG I just lost my gurlz to those lil fers :( -Love how they were described as Borg :) they r :(I went ahead and got the Ortho home defense-12 month stuff-found out it kills a lot of bugs except for Widow and brown recluse spiders :( also learned that when using a spray like this obviously you DO NOT use on plants or soil but it will either keep the spiders that you have in or it will help to keep them out. Once babies were removed I sprayed every square inch from ceiling to floor and extended it about 4ft as a border. I also picked up 2 of those black and Decker pest things from Home Depot-jury is still out as have only had them a few weeks-so far not impressed? I also tried the ECO Smart stuff with no success-however it does have a pleasant covering smell. I also tried the peroxide mix and if you do try that Do Not use more than directed as what sounds to be your case I would not risk it as you would surely kill the remaining leaves and then like me you get a dead plant. :( So far it has been a week and knock on wood nothing-I have checked every baby as they were under attack 3 weeks ago. I am by no means an expert nor do I have much experience just sharing my experiences in the hopes it may help another. Thank you for the thread as well as to the other folks who have shared their techniques. Subbed for future reference. Good one to all.

I had mites pretty bad and found out by accident how to get them on top of the leaves for a more thorough kill. My grow room got down to 50 degrees and all the mites started to travel towards the heat(lights). I then used doktor doom foggers 4 days apart. I used 3 of them for the treatment over 12 days. I used the big cans rated for up to 5500cubic.ft in my veg room that is about 1500cubic ft. I cant say they are all gone but I havnt seen any alive for a while. I am going to finish up with a couple azamax treatments for good measure.

I would go SOILLESS... Bugs and things are still a problem but less likely... Most likely your soil was already contaminated...

It uses the same nerve gas agent used in some flea collars.
