i bought a spin-pro last year because i was in a jam. i used it once and put it away. i am just finishing up hand trimming over 20 pounds, with fiskars. i wouldn't want to ruin it with my spin-pro. which sits in the closet gathering dust.

it does work really good on popcorn buds. but it's more hassle to clean it afterward so i still don't use it.

it makes good buds look really ugly.

i give it a thumbs down. :(

Does it occur to anyone else that with a pair of scissors, a closer manicure could have been done, to about 3x the amount of bud, in the same time? And you don't need to worry about accidentally chopping your bud in half and launching it across the yard?

I can see how this is advantageous if you've already been trimming for a week and have carpal tunnel syndrome.

There was a video on youtube of a trimmer a guy made using a box fan with a metal blade. I think he flipped the blade so that the fan sucked all the trim and keef into a bag. I can't get on youtube from work so I can't add a link. I am thinking of doing something like that. I don't really care for the way the buds come out of an automated trimmer, they look gnawed on. The fan thing is kind of cool because you still have some control over the trim but it is way faster than totally by hand and two people can sit across from each other and work at the same time. I will post the link when I get home if anyone is interested.

EDIT:

I think these are the links

If you took a large tote and put a plexi window in it to look through. You could just catch the stuff flying around. You could get a set of replacement gloves for a sandblasting cabinet. and have built in gloves as well.

A SpinPro is great if you're looking to produce a large quantity of commercial grade weed in a short amount of time, and aren't concerned about quality and appearance.

For quality, nothing out there comes close to a skilled hand and sharp scissors.
