It is according to how far south you are. Start time is also very strain dependent. If you are vegging inside under lights you just need to pick your outside date according to the length of day and the strain. Last year I started way too early. Like in late February and early March, and had a world of early flower problems. April or May should be safe anywhere in the state.

I think you'll have better luck with sativa strains, better acclimated to climate and timing.
Next Winter you should do a Spring crop. You don't have to worry about the cold like I do. Summers in south Florida are a bitch for growing, or so I have heard.

Okay I just looked and may 13 the day length is 13:30.08. On june 21 it is the longest day length at 13.54.56. Given that information what do y'all think I should do. And I cannot use any light at night it will be too obvious.
If you are talking full season plants, late August or early September is most likely. When the nights start to get longer in the fall.

May is still a good starting point for you. I was just showing you why you want to start then. Plants start to flower when the nights get longer than a certain point. That is why you have to wait to plant in the spring, and what makes them flower in the fall. You are doing the right thing to ask.
So you've grown some of them before as a spring crop. Do you notice them being stretchier or more leafy because of the day length getting longer? I'm guessing you're probably in USDA Zone 9 to pull off the spring crop? Lots of questions, thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much I understand everything now! One more question.... I know when the 3rd or 4th node appears you can top the plant and cut the under brush. I have seen videos of people cutting all the fan leaves accept the ones at the top of the flower where the bud is well into flowering.... They say by doing this more energy will go to the buds and you will have a bigger crop with more thc..... Is this correct or can you really mess up your crop.... Many people say yes many say no....
I do some topping, but have never removed leaves. They are the solar panels that power the plant. The more they have the better.
