I put germed seeds in the system. You can do it at anytime but the more developed they are the more trauma the move might cause.

seedlings don't require that much light, you may consider a few daylight cfls for a few week or so. If your going to use the 400 about 24 inches away. Once they are bigger you can run the 400 not closer than six inches from it

with small seedlings I keep even cfls 6-8 inches back. When they get a few sets of leaves then move in.

Make sure the rockwool is soaked first and then make sure it is staying damp but not too wet. How will you be watering until roots are in the water? Read the link below for some ideas.

i read the link you posted, wow lots of info. I'm using a dwc bucket but i already put a water pump in it. it did seem to make the rockwool way too wet. this is my first time growing indoors so any help is great. i think even if i dont use the pump i have my water level to high, i was told to make the level 2 inches up from the bottom of the net pot (5 gallon bucket 10" netpot) so about 1/3 of my hydroton rocks are in the water. Is this to much water? It just seems like without the feeder tube my seed will be to dry.your way sounds way easier and i have 3 or 4 air pumps i can use.

Yes that is way to much water you want it 1 1/2 to2 inch max under net cups . If you are using a pump lower the flow down to a trinkle or a nice steady drip..// . Good Luck man :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

thanks for the input, i'm probably gunna leave the pump off and see what happens. dropped the water 2 inches from the bottom and added another air pump. got bubbles:bigjoint:
