Sprouting in Rockwool

Hello Community!
I have tried my hand at 3 different seeds and have no luck sprouting in rockwool. I soak the seed in a shot glass half full of water for 24 hours on the dot and then plant in a Rockwool cube that has been soaked in a 264 ppm 6.0 ph nutrient solution. I am unsure if i underwater it because it always looks wet to me. i have a plastic box over it to keep the humidity up. Any advice for sprouting in rockwool would be amazing! the three seeds are Kandy Kush, G13 White Widow, and G13 Pineapple Express.

Also that method of putting it into glass of water hinges on if the seed sinks by around 24 hours. That means it is a viable seed. If still floating it probably will never sprout

I always do a 24 hour soak.. I poke the seeds every 6 hours and see if they sink.. to the OP, try the paper towel method and atleast let the seed pop and get a nice 1" inch root coming out and then put the root tip in the hole first (lol) so the seed shell can grow straight up and out of the rockwool cube.

Okay ill try with another seed tonight. It is soaking for 8 hours now they usually sink around 16 for me. The paper towel method is iffy to me because they dry really fast. Ill report if i can get a successful sprout! But i do have an idea. today i bought some rockwool cubes, cut the middle out and filled with soil. i have found soil is foolproof hahaha so would it be possible to go hydroponic that route?

Put the paper towel on a plate, saturate it, then tilt it to drain it. Place plastic rap over the top of the plate to contain heat and moisture. Check for sprouts daily.

I pH adjust my rockwool by soaking in 5.5 pH water like the manufacturer instructs. The seed directly into the hole, the cube then in a domed tray with a heated seedling mat. 100% germination. No swimming parties for the seeds, no paper towels or anything else. I have done all those and more having grown since 1964. KISS. Mimic nature - just using rockwool instead of dirt. No nutrient solution bath for the cube.

Also, you can put the seeds in a paper towel then place it into a ziplock baggy. Keeps the moisture in and you can put it near something warm and that will help. Make sure you pull it out and check on the seeds frequently if you put near something warm because they will pop fast sometimes. The other day I had a seed that popped an inch and a 1/2 root out of it. I lost that seed.

After reading alot of other people's opinion's, I'm with you on this begining phase HotRod! It's my first grow,I have read and studied and I think I'm ready! I think the way you've mention is the best way IMO. We'll see how it comes out, hopefully I'll get good results!!!
