Squeezing BUDS! While being GROWN and once PERFECTLY CURED and smokable! Okay or Bad?

If I had freshly and beautifully cured and smokable bud, and I allowed people to squeeze firmly the buds, in a sort of smashing squeeze. Would this degrade or damage the buds, lower thc?
I would appreciate an extensive response explaining yes or no and why,and from a bunch of people but only if you are confident and can explain why,I feel like it might be controversial and just want to get to the bottom of it!

Anyone?

What I think:

Growing -
Squeezing buds while they are growing especially if its in a smashing squeeze has obviously got to be bad for the development of that bud. Whether you are destroying developing trichomes, or damaging bud tissue it certainly cant be a good thing to squeeze them at this stage.

Perfectly Cured and Smokable -
Squeezing Buds is in my opinion not okay, you don't need to squeeze a bud or smash a bud to know how dense it is, you should be able to tell just from the weight and look of it. Squeezing a bud or many buds together has to lower THC, Both due to whats lost as it sticks to your finger or to the container its in and due to the trichomes being smashed. If you harvest your bud when its supposed to be harvested then you would have something like 33% Clear, 33% Milky, and 34% Amber trichomes. It seems to me that squeezing or smashing buds in turn smashes those delicate trichomes which in turn is going to keep those clear trichs from aging resulting in a lower thc count over time as apposed to them being in tact.

Im sure there's more to this and perhaps some of my logic is off or im not thinking of everything, I would really appreciate some input from you experts out there???!!!

I agree with you on both of those fronts. The trichomes are where the majority of the THC is, so squeezing, or handling them in any way can theoretically lower the potency. The rougher the handling, the more potential for breaking off trichomes and losing the "goodies". I know people that REFUSE to touch or squeeze the bud in any way! They will cut a chunk off with a small pair of scissors and drop it in their bowl. No packing, smashing, or grinding required.bongsmilie

Cured marijuana is best while still remaining somewhat moist comparatively. If you say it doesn't you have never had weed so dry it turns to powder with ease crushing it. The destruction of the structure holding water and resins accelerate a natural loss of moisture, degrading pot, lettuce, peaches . . . . . easy enough to picture without extreme detail. Damaging a bud does not help it and does harm it.

I think it does lose potency when you touch buds either growing or cut. the stickyness on your hands is the oils from the trichomes themselves. I dont think you would notice the loss in potency as the majority of what you smoke is inside the buds. If you squeeze it too hard when its growing i guess you could damage it so it grows weirdly so you could lose yield. That would worry me more than the small loss of potency. I personally try not to squeeze the buds at all. maybe lightly once or twice near the end to check how dense it is.
