It depends on the strain. I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for saying this because there are so many "experts" on LEDs that have never grown with them. So before anyone questions my motives or integrity, I have two 1,000w HPS lights, and two banks of T5's. I also have two banks of blue LED's and two banks of red LED's. These are my second sets of LEDs too. My reason for using them was because I lived in Georgia and I needed something that would not jack up my temps so I chose them. I would still use the blue ones again but not the red, or maybe just as filler lights. The blue is great for vegging; the plants respond with good growth and very tight nodes. You do not need monster plants to get monster colas and a lot of bud, but you do need the right kind of light in flower and LED's will not do that for you; you need HPS for that or at least T5's with the right bulbs. You could cluster 4 plants in a square and use HPS or line them up side by side and use T5's.
