Starting an outdoor grow op in april

Hey everyone, I am from the shroomery, and decided that I need other resources, so I figured I'd check out over here.

Alright guys, so here is the deal, I had a friend named Reed come up to me and say that he wanted ME to run an outdoor grow op for him. Now his reasoning behind picking me is far beyond me, and I am actually a little bit nervous. I guess he figured because I am good at school and love drugs that I would make a good grower. I have never grown anything before in my entire life (that is illegal). All I really want is to produce something that isn't schwag or mid grade. Anything without seeds and maybe some crystals would be fucking clutch, but I have no expectations of growing the dankest herb around. Now he has a farm that is a deer camp (we already are putting up chicken wire) and wants to do like 30 plants. Our grow is in Mississippi and I need a strain that will do well outdoors and isn't that hard to get good results with in a hot humid climate. I was also curious should I just try doing a bunch of bagseed from some mids and just germinating at the site. In the summers it will sometimes get up to 100 degrees or sometimes up higher, and I am nervous about that shit. Also we have big rain storms and stuff. Another thing I need to learn is about the germination process and which teks work best and how long they will take to grow and shit. Just whatever you guys think would be helpful. Thank you.

I hope this post isn't to vague or frustrating like a "how do I grow pot post", but I really am a complete noob.

Can anyone help me out with advice for doing this grow. Also does anyone know how much 30 outdoor plants could or would yeild? Thanks guys.

P.S. I think this could be a great success. Do ya'll? I don't even have to use my property or anywhere where trespassers will be.

Start off with good genetics. Google the Attitude Seedbank. I live in North Cakalaky (right above you) and they got to me in like a week. Stealthy shipping too. Put em in a damp paper towel for 24-72 hrs. Older seeds take longer. When white roots are about a quarter inch, put them in facing root down. That's the start for ya.

And I think you'll do well. 30 plants? lets be realistic, and say 10 died somehow. 20 plants, SOME people could get 1-2 lbs a plant. If your smart, and keep a good eye on them, you could pull it off. But to be humble, lets say .5lb each. so thats 10lbs off 20 plants. 10lbs selling at 5k each (could go higher) would be 50,000 presidents. Good luck, and space them out randomly, and try to make it hard to see from the air.

Hey bro, I'd be happy to help you out on this. I grow outdoors and can provide my what knowledge and experience I have. First off it's not hard to do. Just follow a few basics and the rest is up to nature. It is much easier and cheaper to grow outdoors if you have a secure place and available water.
Lets start slow and do some homework first. you can easily get a lb per plant give or take. What kind of soil is on the site? Now is the time to select your site and prep the soil. 30 plants will take up a nice amount of space. When is your last frost date (do you have one)? How long do your temps get above 99F (days and hours in the day)? I'll stop here for now.

Hey man, I'll be reading along. I'm an indoor grower. But am doing my first outdoor grow this year.
Here: http://www.victoryseeds.com/frost/index.html : Click on the link and find out your first and last frost date.

Where I live my last frost date isn't untill 5/25. So I'll be growing out a few clones (I am at the moment actually) so that I don't have to start from seed so late. I'll go prepare my site around the beginning of may. And come june first go plant them girls in the ground!

Yeah I was just thinking 30 as a rough estimate, because my original plan was to use a bunch of bagseed and go for more plants, thus improving my chances of succeeding. As for our last frost date, if I plant in mid april, it won't frost again, because it rarely gets cold here at all. The strain I was thinking about using was Durban Poison if people think the bagseed is a bad idea. After thursday, I will put up a pic of the grow site. We are going to use chicken wire around the site to keep deer out. I hear paper towel germination and a Tupperware container is best, so I guess that is what I will do. After that I am going to use solo cups and potting soil. Then put them straight into the ground after we soften it up and mix it with potting soil.

The seed issue is my main concern as of now though.

Get a good strain! Your going to do a lot of work. Might as well get the most out of it. If you can. If not, bag seed will work too. I'd say start in larger containers than the solo cups. You don't want the roots to get bound or to "think" they can't spread out, it changes the growing characters of the plants. Get some 1 - 3 or 5 gallon "smart pots", Fill with great potting soil/soil-less. Start the seeds and sex them before planting outdoor.

if u dont hae the money to be spending on seeds go with bagseed it will always be better than what it came from because you are gonna take care of it .. if your not looking for the best shit ever and have nothing to lose go for it . but if u have the extra cash get some good seeds . but the best thing to do is reaserch search for some grows in your state and see what problems pepole have had it could save u some frustraion and time . good luck!

All right I think I am going to do 20 Seeds of some ordered seeds. Does anyone have any suggestions from personal experience of strains that grow well in the southeast and are good for beginners? I also plan to germinate like 20-30 more bagseeds just for shits and giggles. I don't think it would hurt anything if I spread all the plants out.

Thank ya'll so much. This forum is incredibly helpful.

I don't know what your looking for or growing in your area so I can't help you there. Get what sounds good to you or maybe someone else here at RIU can head you in a direction.
