Starting My first Hidden wall DWC hydro grow, need some suggestions/advice !!

Hello,
This is going to be my first grow but i guarantee you, it will be a awesome one. My buddies in construction are helping me out and im either making a hidden wall for part of a closet or i am going to make another room in a bedroom.

I decided on Super lemon haze for my first grow, maybe also apaluco gold, tangerine dream, and midnight kush.

It is going to be a gh waterfarm grow, i was very impressed with Scottyballs thread with pe so now i am going to do a 16 oz grow with one plant hopefully

The insides will be lined with panda film

Does anyone think it is possible to build a skylight system to prevent the vent light heat from entering the chamber, or does the lumens get blocked?

I am using a vent light 400watt one for vegetation and one for flowering and also some led panels ,my friend still has it hes giving it to me within a few days.

Say the most space i have is 8 feet high, 6 feet long, and 4 feet wide or maybe three feet.

I need some help i will post my grow as i go and the grow room will be none short than jaw dropping with the works of inline exhaust fans, carbon filters, maybe even a veg chamber for a possible perpetual grow.

Any ideas with scrog and conserving space dramatically? i want an awesome grow.
Thanks help me out!

I decided on Super lemon haze for my first grow, maybe also apaluco gold, tangerine dream, and midnight kush. It is going to be a dwc hydro, now i want a lot of harvest but im unsure if I should use a 35 gallon tote and have 4-7 plants or should i have individual bucket systems. I am using a reflector light one for vegetation and one for flowering, i don't know what watt my friend still has it hes giving it to me within a few days. There are plenty of scrog threads. What do you need to know?

Also, You'll get more responses if you space your posts out better. It makes them easier and more pleasant to read.

I wanted to develop a scrog system of layers but than the obvious problem of lighting getting around, what scrog method is the best just one screen for all the plants to go off of or should i customize each plant to different heights?
Thanks moebius!

Ok ... at this point I declare Ive never done Scrog .. I do Sog.

It going to be best suited with clones. They'll grow at even levels. If youre talking about the problem of have a linear flat canopy of plants when the light intensity is spherical you could customise the screen so it has 'wings' at the side that come up at an angle.

Im just thinking of the top of my head. Maybe someone with experience of this technique can chime in.

What is Sog(seaofgreen) exactly? just letting them freeball? lol
And that is a really good idea actually i could have the middle open like a circle fence, then wings coming to the side so all the plants are seperated, the left and right plants wont grow up but the middle can do whatever she wants

You should make a tutorial on how to install a hidden wall and how you work out all your exhaust and intake.

Thats a good idea Georgyboy, i actually will! get ready for some crazy shit, ill be installing everything within a few weeks, ill have pics and everything

i would do flood and drain over dwc for first time
Really? Ebb and flow was the first thing about hydro that caught my eye, but than i heard the results of dwc is very impressive, can i have some pros and cons and your opinion? it would really help me out. If you think i cant maintain dwc i assure you i can but if thats not it please tell me
Thanks

Please Please dont listen to anyone telling you ebb and flow is easier than DWC. Ive done both, I'll tell you a DWC is an excellent choice for a first timer (or anyone). You'll not have to worry about timers failing and finishing your crop. You more or less set it up and forget abouts it. lol

As for my yield, Its around 40-50 oz every 9 weeks when Im at full tilt. Although, Im making a few changes (doubling capacity) atm so its down a bit in this room. Another alternative you may like to consider is a hempy. This is what im working on.

DWC aint that impressive at all... if you figue out how to have a cycled system, you can do much better..

Be ready to spend 3-4 hours just to change res for 7-8 buckets...

Second about going DWC for first time route. The most common first time newbie mistake with plants is over watering. And with DWC this is not possible as long as your airpump is solid.

Only really thing to worry about with dwc is slime/nute levels. Slime Easily cured if you make some Heis tea, and if you have too much nutes. dump and start over.

3-4 hrs to change 8 buckets? Maybe if you are in a wheelchair...

I used 18 gallon totes for my last grow and it took me maybe 10-15 to do a full res change.

I started years ago with DIY DWC buckets. For me I found it the simplest thing in the world. I never ever saw slime, my buckets were light tight and i used a heated screwdriver to melt the hole for an airline.

I would be doing them now if I had space. Too simple for words.

edit: I wouldn't recommend for wheelchair users because of the weight of water.

What if i use a two lined airpump and airstones too, its a tetratec dw96 150 gallon model.
ITs fucking swheet.

how were the results of the single bucket system? HOw much room you recommend?

Only downside to the SOG method is the plant numbers. For a medical grower its all about the numbers. I would rather veg a plant for 4 months and scrog it than do 100 plants.

I have more height space than width so should i just stick with single bucket dwc system? Drip feed system? or ebb and flow system. Any i think i am capable of.
