starting my new grow

whats going on my fellow growers . not entirely new to rollitup . my first 2 grows were back in 2012 and 2013 and came to this forum for help from some good people ! i stop growing for a couple yrs due to being to sketched out by growing illegally in my state . but im happy to say i now live in a state where growing and smoking marijuana is now legal! times are good and im trying to hop back on the green rush !

That being said i am a little rusty on my growing knowledge so i figure id bring my grow back to RIU! i just ordered seeds last night from worldwidemarijuana i choose 2 different feminized strains as followed :
Ghost train Haze #1 , Skywalker OG Kush . also receiving 2 free seeds .
Im going to do 5 plants in my 4x4 argomax growtent .
Light im using my cooltube . veg 400w mh . Flower 600w hps.
Ventilation i have 6inch inline fan hooked up to cool tube blowing all hot\bad air out the top of tent. at the bottom i have a 4inch fan bringing new/clean air in. then also 3 little clip on fans inside of tent circulating air and a breeze for the girls.

As far as soil i went with good old foxfarm. figured my first grow back id take the safe route with things and use stuff iv handled with in the past. but my future grows i want mix my own soil!

nutrients i went with General Organics Go Box . also something im used to from the past. it has basically what any other nutrient box would gave ; CaMg , Biothrive grow , biothrive bloom etc . but with my foxfarm soil i wont be needing any of that till about a month or so into the grow .

also live on the east coast and is winter time around here so dealing with temps might be a problem on some days but that wont stop me from trying!

Glad to see you back on the up and up . Bro i heard so many good things on the Skywalker by DNA. I myself have done the Lemon Og and shes bomb, just want a better pheno. Also the GTH #1 is verryy potent ive heard, when i attempted growing her i had freak accidents so didnt even get to see her do her thing. hope you keep this updated wanna see some bud porn

Thanks on the welcome back joe! im doing 2 plants of each strain and ill have one wild card seed making 5 plants in the tent . may i asked what the freak accident you had with the GTH? i wanna stay away from those lol . i know they can happen at any time rather quickly lol. but i am also excited for the skywalker. i was like a little kid at a candy store last night deciding what strains to go with

thanks for the heads up . i was reading 70 days on the GTH flowering time ? also the skywalker was saying roughly 65 days flowering time . i was hoping to harvest both plants at same time since i only have 1 tent .

do you have experience with this strain ? if so any more pointers to watch out for or simple good things to know about growing GTH?

Im growing a skywalker og auto right now but it just sprouted yesterday and the gth my friend grow her and it took 101 days of flower and they get tall., but it was FIRE!! Top her early and lst her. Im pulling a chair. Good luck!!

ya i keep hearing how good the GTH is but damn 101 days huh lol . and i see were both growing some skywalker og only difference is you said your growing an auto .

Birds picked some out, others failed to pop, just bad luck outdoors man... ya long flower like papa says....but fuegooo

Just got some simple questions to refresh my memory?

So when is the best time to water the girls? when the light off or on ? Also watering every 2 days or when first inch of soil is dried up? ... im also filling up 1 gallon jugs of tap water letting it sit out for a day without the cap on then putting cap on . when comes feeding time i then adjust the ph level to about 6.5.? again correct me if im wrong

i have the tent up and runing currently to get temp readings and such cause like i said i live on the east coast , Mass to be exact . example one day could be 60F (degrees) and the next morning its somehow 10F. good old new england for ya.
BUT so far so good running light at night time getting about 75F 80F and durning the day lights off temp is about 65 70F

ALSO humidity i want around 35 55 range ?

Ventilation question. i have both the light and 6inch inner fan that exhaust hot\bad air out of tent set on a timmer so they both go on\off at the same time. cause with that big fan running when the light is off gets even colder in the tent like around 60F and below . that being said is it alright having that 6inch fan off while still having the back bottom flap of the tent open and the bottom 4inch intake still running.
Or basically does the big 6inch inner fan have to be running 24\7?

i think thats all for now im sure more questions well come to me as the days go on

Theres different ways to water depending on how fast the medium dries. A rule of thumb is stick your index finger knuckle deep (1st knuckle) and if its dry all the way to that knuckle you should water. As your plant gets bigger roots expand, drinking more water requiring more watering. 65+-75 f is ideal, nothing past 85, and thats pushing, unless co2 is involved. Humidity is usually good between 35-65 veg a little lower for flowering to prevent mold, so you look good there for sure. Ventilation i would just say yeah your good with the 6" off if lights are off as well. intake is good unless its colder outside the tent and you dont want to suck in that cold air when lights off. just remember air circulation is your friend, prevents stagnant air and mold.

Different people might tell you different things, but i say right when lights come on. That way you avoid high humidity with lights off, a breeding ground for PM or other molds. Lights on allows top soil to dry.

Edit: i say mold alot because ive had bad experience with PM even with these kinda precautions lol
