man i just had a harvest of this exotic ass sativa and it fucking molded im pissssed!!!
Did you do any misting on the plan Titan? If so and you didn't stop soon enough towards the end of flowering, then you might thave rotted the buds with your misting solution. About 6-8 weeks into flowering you should not be misting anymore, the power and heat of the lights cause the water to rot the buds. Hopefully I could help mate

Besides my puter working, good news came from Springfield Illinois, passing the first stage of legalizing medical MJ. It goes to the senate floor soon (sounds positive it'll pass). You will be allowed to grow 7 plants. Lets get cooking.:eyesmoke::weed:

Sounds great, both of you. GrowKind, I'll be looking forward to it. Vic, I know you'll make full use of the new legislation, I expect results :blsmoke:. Peace and love

you may find that at your latitude the thai sativa might not have time to finish flowering before frost...a pure asian sativa takes at least 12 weeks of flowering...i have some laotian beans that are 20 weeks of flowering...and sativas like long veg times...so i am going to wait untill i have a room indoors to run any of my sativas...like my cherry thai...w99
Yessir.. I've thought of that. I do have 12 wks flowering where I'm at, although you occasionally get a random frost here and plants get fried just like that.. It'll be a pinch time-wise -- I'm thinking about building some kind of "dark frame" that I can put over 'em and stretch the flowering season by a month or so. The weed is such that it's worth a shot no matter what, and I've stretched my SO as far as I can on the indoor thing for now. :bigjoint:

Dug my outdoor hole about three weeks ago -- 30% native soil, 20% FFOF, 20% perlite, 20% black kow compost, and 10% "other" -- 4 cups lime, a little bit of compost I made myself, and a little coarse sand (we have very poor drainage where I'm at..). Been seasoning since... some nice rains, warm days, temp fluc's to work it all in. Gonna pop 6 of those Thai in a couple weeks.. give them 2-3 wks running start. Can't wait...

question in regards to pruning and trimming fan leaves. should i or not? some say yes and some say no.
HEy man!! Whatever you do!! do NOT remove fan leaves!!! they will yellow and sometimes fall off when you flush.... Fan leaes are like the lungs of your plant.... if you remove them its less photosynthesis happening... if a few fan leaves are blocking light from the buds just tuck them under..... but dont remove them....
If the leaf isnt looking healthy its not the end of the world... and defenatly not a reason to just pull it off!!! You only wanna remove a fan leaf that has been at leaaast 70% damaged and if you do leave the petiol... (the leaf stem) the plant will suck up the left over "energy" in that petiol and it will retract and fall off.....
If you need more concrete info ... ill just copy paste a little part from jorge cervantes marijuana horticulture medical growers bible......
here it goes..
3 Leave leaves alone! Removal of healthy leaves hacks up a healthy plant. Removing large fan or shade leaves DOES NOT make plants more productive. This practice DOES NOT supply more light to smaller leaves and growing tips. Plants need all their leaves to produce the maximum amount of chlorophyll and food... Removing leaves slows chlorophyll production, stresses the lant and sstunts its growth. stress is a growth inhibitor. remove only dead leaves or leaes that are more than 50% damaged. (jorge cervantes, Marijuana Horticulture the indoor/outdoor medical growers bible. P.61)
there you go i hope this helped you make your decision...,
till then ...Keep it green in love and under JAH LIGHT...

i cut my dead leaves or fan leafs or other leaves blocking bud sites and the plant isnt stressed it has plenty of leaves so i kinda disagree with this i think u should cut anything off thats dead and or blocking bud sites

I got some of the extreme serene and HP2 and the ancient amber. Allcame from the hydro guy for free 1 qt sizes. Im using now the Ancient Amber and the extreme serene for my smallest clone and then Ill be feeding the HP2 for the next feeding of my flowering moms. I will post if and when I see real results. Im hoping the small clone will grow faster and healthier well see.

you obviously didnt read my post properly.... u remove any leaves that are 50% damaged or more.... So yes, that would mean removing leaves...
but DO NOT remove healthy leaves that are just shading a bud... you can move it, tuck it under, try turn the plant, ... but dont remove the leaf unless its dead...
and its obvious taking off one leaf wont make a big difference... Its not like 1 healthy leaf will = 10 healthy grams....... but it does affect your plant... and it IS better to not remove leaves unless it is necessary.... blocking a few lumens from a 600 Watt hps or a 400watt hps is really not a big deal... as compared to taking off the leaf you could have just pushed down or tucked under another leaf....
I could write another little extract from soma's medical marijuana book who also claims to NOT REMOVE LEAVES and in the big book of buds... ed rosenthal clearly states in one of the little stories/documentaries in the book to never ever ever remove leaves unless they have been badly badly damaged..... so dont listen to me if you dont want to .... but you cant beat 3 different marijuana experts and genetic engineers..... on the matter sorry..... so do you as you like but im sticking to good basics and thats not taking leafs off....... if you make such tiny little mistakes, thinking its right.. i wonder what other mistakes in your grow your making...
till then

jahtrip, i must agree with the main big 3 in growing and you. thanks. that's what i was always taught and practiced but recently i've been told by some of the new kids on the block to remove any larger than normal fan leaves as they obstruct. i thought maybe there was some new info on the subject that i wasn't aware of. they claim that it's the new way in amsterdam. i thought it was bullshit myself. i took one candy plant and removed some larger fans a few days ago and she's sad today. hope she recovers. thanks again.

Yeah its always good to see what the new generation has found to be effective....
but i live 2hours away from amsterdam... and only 35 minutes away from the dutch border and i can promise you i have never ever heard of a new trend of growers in holland pulling off fan leaves....
But just to be sure.... ill ask my good ol friend in one of maastrichts grow shops... and see if he has heard anything seen as he is selling products directly to Dutch growers .... in the netherlands
till that time ...

I am interested in organic growing and currently setting up an all organic multi-strain "heady" grow. I'd like to join.
