starting the babies for summer crop

Just getting started posting here at RIU, but spend a lot of time in the outdoor section at GC around Porkville. Glad I found your thread. Love a Brother w/a plan. You got some style and some smarts Getaway. I bought a bunch of auto seeds this year so I can get some started in my breeding program.

The autos need to spend a few weeks indoors vegging about 20 hours per day before going outside in early June. So I'm doing some work on my little seed starter shop light set up. You mentioned the import of dialing in the right light spectrum. I need some new tubes. There aren't any hydro or lighting shops near me. I buy most of my supplies from Lowes or Home Depot. What kind of tubes are you running in those shop lights for starting your kikkis?

hey greenjeans,

i don't use fully auto's in breeding anymore due to they will give ya some that will be early and the rest won't and to pull just the good early phenos takes alot of time but semi autos do just fine with making consistent earlier strains. i use cool white deluxe 40 watt lights only all the time inside but i got 36 sets of them going 18/6'

Hey getaway hows it going, glad to see things are moving along nicely with your babies! what sort of fert do you give to your clones? I have heard just a little bit of superthrive after they are cloned until they grow roots and use up the available food in their own leaves, and then a diluted dose ( maybe only 1/4 dose ) of ferts in their water. what do you think about this? and how often are you watering them? how often are u feeding them, when the leaves show signs of nut deficiencies? it can be hard bc the clone leaves yellow up as the plant consumes food out of them. just curious, looking great!
001.JPG006.JPG009.JPG here's what our clones look like all the time and in the pic of the 2 rows of babies on ya left side are from seed and the ones on ya right are clones ,ya can see the roots they are getting !!

Thanks for the info about the tubes. Ask a practical man a straight question, get a straight answer. I've seen those flo tubes at the big stores. Glad to see how well they work.

I'm running a crop of big full season girls too. The autos are Sweet Tooth, Pandora, and Sour60. If some of em go full season, I'll be there to let em do their thing. I'll make some seeds with the early girls though. I'm down just a skip and a hop north of Fla. I grew up 90 miles north of the Big Bend region of the Gulf. It's nice to see these Fla growers hanging out around your thread. GJs

PS. I hear you about the semi-autos. I'm here to learn somethin new bro.

damn thats quite a view, i bet they get lots of sun out there. hope that swamp doesnt give you too much trouble. its good thing you got those mold resistant strains though, around all that water the humidity can get pretty high.
and how do you get all of those girls out there? it must take like 5 trips back and forth haha shit man.

Looks remote GetAway. I been back digging some swamp tubes in the alder thickets down here in Dixie myself. Had my trusty 90 lb German Shepard/Lab cross w/me. She's mellow until somebody shows up that ain't supposed to be around. Then Shirley bar the door! She's all hackles and big teeth. You'd never know it watching her nap and hang around my living room. I rescued her the day they were gonna put her down. She came with the warning, "does not play well w/others". My senses are pretty keen, but she's got the nose a man could never dream of.

I'm gonna put some Agent Orange and White Rhinos in those 40 gal swamp tubes. I've seen some pics of em blowin up pretty big out in Cali. Gonna try for some multi pounders. We'll see. Gotta dream big sometimes. I have 35 short season auto seeds, and will prob try to crop about 20 full season girls that average about 4 zips each. It'll keep my old Silver Back sweaty and busy for a few months.

Looking forward to watching your grow. GJs

ya they get full sun all day long and i'm a least 2 miles from that water up the mountain side its very hot and dry where i am above the fog line i look down at that shit and wonder why anyone would stay down in that climate . well it takes about 1 trip of couple hundred to each spot and 4 trips with with 12 bails dirt each trip for each spot. 6 spots total

damn you've got a good spot, theres lots of forest towards the middle of FL but lots of wild life, never really tried a grow like that though sounds great though. i wouldnt expect it to be hot up there around this time of year, maine sounds like a sweet place to grow outdoors. and damn thats a lot of work, do you have to feed them or does their soil have all the nutes?

damn i dont think id mind checkin 250 girls every day, especially if they had some fat buds on them. i think im gonna add promix or espoma to my compost this summer, they seem to like promix a lot though.
and nice, what nutes do you prefer? i switched to organics sort of, i use some salt based flower nutes here and there to push them.

Yep, them Cnotes don't just fall out of the sky for us working class boys. There's $$$ to be had, but it takes throwin down some of your own, smarts, and hard work. You got the right plan there Getaway. Plus people get to smoke something high quality grown right here in the US. Fkkk them cartels down south of the border. GJs
