Some count from the time they switch to 12/12. There are some that count from the first sign of female pistils. Either way, its just a reference number to give you an idea of where your at. Its the plant itself that will tell you when its ready.

it is just a reference, count from when ever, just don't use this number to drive yourself crazy. They will finish when they are ready.

What they said^ it may not necessarily been done in exactly 8 weeks. Just use it as a reference.
