Stealth Cabinet Build PICS

Just wanted to share some pics of my scrog cabinet I am making. It has a nice big scrubber powered by five computer fans of unknown CFM. Most 3" fans are 30 to 80 cfm. That will exchange the air 7 to 17 times a minute free flow. Obviously the carbon will slow it up some. The exhaust is 35 square inches. I designed the intake at around 20 square inches to create a nice vacum. I was going to use 3" ABS for the passive intake and light trap, but decided to make it from wood to save a little space. I will light this puppy up with 10 to 14 23wcfls. Any feed back advice welcome.

looking good. post some pics when u get some plants in their!!
Thank you kindly. I hear that putting C02 to close to the plants sometimes burns them or what ever. If I take an air line form a 2litre pop bottle and plumb it to the start of the intake, will this help mix it up enough so I don't damage the plants? I assume I would disconect it in the evenings, but it would be easier to leave it hooked up if I can. I read that some people change there yeast mix or whatever every couple fo days. The Co2 injector for my fish tank would last a month easy, it's the same thing. You don't need massive amounts of yeast, or even new yeast. Just keep a teaspoon of the old mix for the new mix. The bacteria doubles like every 8 hours. The inital yeast packet was very small. I only ever opened one out of the three the kit came with.

that looks sick i wish i could build one like that... good luck, post pics of the plants!
Thanks. I was hoping to do a one plant scrog because I'm a big pussy Idealy I would like to get a three to four ounce minimum yeild. Eight would be better, lol. I am still in the planning stages but from what I have read from you guys on here it should be possible. You guys are the shit. I need enough to make it worth while, because I smoke like a mofo.

BC BIG BUD and 2POUNDER were recommended to me from the seedbank. That 2POUNDER one gives me goose bumps. It's suppose to yeild 2 pounds for every meter squared, one plant. I would settle for a fraction of that!!

I'm sure you'll do fine. I was also recommended Auto AK-47, But I heard you cannot clone the autoflowers, which isn't that big of a deal, the are just a little small, I would need sog for those I think.

So I decided I needed a mother/clone box in the cabinet. It was tricky as it was an afterthought. I did not want to block off the scrubber or lose too much space in the flower part. As it turns out I was able to pop in a utility box as well. The Black things are the light trap on either side of the utility box. I need to get 2 more fans to add to the light trap to aid in the transfer of air from the flower room below. I have a little bit more than 12" of clearance in the veg box. The flower box ends up with 19"'s from the top of the rubbermaid tote to the bottom of the new veg box.

I also am changing the rez. I have a 12" tote inside of an 18" tote. They hold 24 litres each in this desighn. You can see the cut-outs in the top one. This allows the water to fall below were it is pumped back up again. This way I maintain a perfect level in my rez which is 24 Litres and up to 24 litres back up down below, this is the part that will get low as the plant drinks. I lose a bit more space but I think it's worth it. I really wanted a recirc. system of sorts. It leaves me with 19" for the SCROG. What do youj think, any input appreciated.

Props on the build, I really like the idea. Can you give me an estimate on what you've got into it so far? i've put a little over $1k just into a closet build, but it is my first.

I literaly have not spent a dime on it. I work in a cabinet shop, built this out of scraps. What you see so far is less than $100 dollars in material if I bought it. I have had the rubbermaid totes for a while, they were a gift. I have collected computer fans over the years. Free computer PSU. I am getting to the point were I have to spend a little on it. I need airpumps, about 12 CFLS and a UVB bulb. I am starting to think about putting 2 150w HPS from a security light as opposed to the CFLS. Not sure if heat would be an issue, I really don't want to get into making cool tube for this cabinet, so will likely stick with the CFLs.

By the time I got done putting in cfl's I had so much heat I changed it to hps. Alone they are not to bad but put a bunch together and they can put out a lot of heat. I think you would be better off with the hps. Set them up with glass and fans to cool and you should have a lot more usable light. And they can take up less space too. Nice job on the cabinet too. Nice having stuff you can get from work for free huh? I do home remodeling and get lots of stuff for the grow.

Thanks again for the tip, Hash Lover. I like to get real world advice from somebody who's has experiaced what they are talking about. That was the answer I wanted to hear, If the cfls put out that much warmth than I will just deal with the HPS heat. I could take apart all the cfl bulbs and wire their ballasts separate, but I think it would be easier to Make a hood or cool tube. Party On Wayne.

I have been thinking about the hps thing. still seems pretty hot. You really think the 2 150w hps would be cooler than 12 or so cfls(26w)? I assume I would have to add a cool tube, right? I really don't know what to do now , lol decisions decisions. I just would not to have to worry about those hot little fuckers burning away in there. The DIY thread mentions using fiberglass wrap for the wire to the lamp. They must be hot. See if my fans or what not failed and I had CFLs, it would likey not be a problem. Yes the cabinet could get warmer and harm the plant, there just woulnd't be as much heat as 2 150w hps. I would like to design some HPS into a future cabinet as this is my first grow. Anyone else wanna chime in?

Sorry for leaving you hanging. So the above Cabinet is SOLD, lol did not have a chance to try it out! I am in the midst of a redesign. I am going with a C-Scrog and a 150w - 250w hps for the flowwering. I got a 2.5 sonne 80cfm bathroom fan for the scrubber/exhaust. The advantage of the C-scrog is I can get 7 sq feet of grow area in a 4.5 sq foot space! I will post some Sketchup pics later.
